You're welcome, and thank you for spurring me to look for it; everything I've written in the last 2 years still has a copyright date of 2007. Now I know how to change it!

The Korg should have a midi in and a midi out connector.... plug in the Ederol to the korg, and plug the usb into the computer. If the Ederol has any software... follow the instructions for loading it. Open MC5 and the ederol should be available in the inputs under midi. From that point, you simply select it in the midi track as input and hit record. That is a nutshell ... go to my website for more info on midi and how to set up the tracks...

Add them to your cart (after you sign in) then "purchase them" and they'll be available for download. wow - Kinetic 2 is now $9.99! I think James/radio/Nightrider XL/etc bought it just a couple of months ago for $99.99!! <message edited by Beagle on 11 hrs. ago>

CPU numbers are somewhat relative to the CPU usage of the entire system. If the system is using 60% then there is only 40% left for the most part. Considering spikes and other CPU issues it needs to be kept low, but an be much higher. Some software measures differently i have one program that will jump into the 80% to 90% areas and still keep going. So just as you get comfortable with the system the limits will be more obvious.

I have most of 'em but I've found that my "go to" software is TT Superior Drummer 2.2 w/New York Studio Expansion pack. Geez! Now I'm thinking, "OMG! I should have also bought the NY Expansion Pack for Superior Drummer!" I could go on and on buying new stuff and I'm still gonna want more. But I'm sure I'll be happy...

Ok, all the volume is up in the windows sounds. As for making sure the mic input is selected for the track's input, it only gives options for left microphone / line in right microphone / line in stereo microphone / line in those are the only 3 options it gives me, and the volume is up for them. I've even tried cranking it. As for the softsynths I try to insert those and it sets the input as :...

E-MU Success and a Question
Published (2009-11-23 01:28:17)
OK, I just read a post by Tap from a couple of weeks back, who mentioned something about turning on echo to record and monitor with effects. I tried it and it works - change the output from the E-MU 0404 to the Master bus and turn on echo ... works like a charm. Still very low/unnoticeable latency. Thanks Tap! Glad to help, I'm sure any of the fine folks here could have easily have helped out, though ....Good luck. -TAP-

WHAT HAPPENED???

Not a glutton, just obsessed Robo! The OS made all the difference in the world actually. With Vista, I couldn't get anything decent. With 7, I was able to record 8 tracks of audio and a bunch of midi tracks and then it started being weird. I deleted a bunch of the midi tracks (they were scratch drum tracks anyway) and this morning, it seems more stable. However, I'm noticing that cpu usage is hitting 20% and Disk space...

Music Creator 3 & 5
Published (2009-11-25 00:00:00)
I am not hearing Built-in soundfont. I used professional soundfonts and they sound much much better than my acoustic piano. I have Creative Bank Manager to manage that, it is linked through the soundfont bank manager of MC3 and 5. TTS does play sound, however, it does not use the soundfont. It uses its synth or GM bank. Yeah, I did not use Bank 0 for Output. I used my soundfont which appeared as it name on the output so I can't be wrong....

from this post by if you go to the top menu bar of the main MC5 window and choose INSERT>SOFTSYNTHS> then the CAKEWALK SOUND CENTERshould be listed under the 2nd line of the next menu (the options are divided between DXi and VSTi and the sound center is a VSTi in the lower portion of the menu)....

My integrated sound card has a little bit too much latency. That's an understatement! If you can find an express card with good specs that supports ASIO drivers, that would be a little quicker than usb, but I don't think you could hear the difference. Most of the folks here in the MC forum use an external USB device with zero or almost zero latency. Do not get...

I though it would be easy : " Plug'n' play method " but I was wrong. Sorry - never believe the marketing hype! Cakewalk's not any more difficult than any other mainstream sequencer, but it's not a "cakewalk"! MC5 works fine with vista 32. it is not vista 64 compliant, but you can get it to work on vista 64 in "XP compatibility mode." MC3 was not designed to work on any version of vista and there have been many people report that they cannot get all functions (some including audio output!) to work in vista even in "xp compatibility mode" yes,you can get an external soundcard check my website...

Beagle yeah, you can only have one virtual instrument per track, but I'm unclear why you would want more than one anyway. if you want the same MIDI data to control different instruments, you can clone the MIDI track and send each one to a different instrument (or even a different channel if your VSTi is multitimbral). sorry guys,...

Welcome! Most likely there are tutorials in the help files of MC? Do them as starters. The info you need is in this particular task is about soft synths. Then you can ask more specific questions that could be answered more easily. Now you're asking like copy-pasting half of the manual on the forum.

First rip the CD to a folder on the hard drive, then open the wave file in MC. Remember you can not separate the tracks, from a mixed wave file all you can do is to add efects, and adjust the over all file like a fade out or cut off the beginning or end, or even a middle part out.

Hmm... there was problem with MC 4 early on when you tried to change to MME driver mode. I never heard of the glitch related to ASIO, though. Here is the fix for that: try the attached reset utility. Before you launch MC4. Please download this driver mode utility. http://www. cakewalk.com/support/sonar/drivermode.z ip You can use it to launch SONAR in a ...

Just got MC5, having problems with volume for playback. It seems to record my tests in the mic but playing it back I can just barely hear it. If I crank the track volume to 127 it seems to make it somewhat more audible but theres so much ambient noise from that. Also windows system sounds are signifigantly higher than the playback from my tests (yes the windows volume is up). When I start MC5, I ...

What synth are you using to hear the MIDI play? If you're using anything other than the Microsoft GS Wavetable synth, you first bounce the MIDI to audio, then export that audio to your desired location on the hard drive. Some info on your computer will help, too. How fast and how much RAM? What sound card? What operating system? Welcome to the forum....
