Bill, I knew how you meant it mate - just checking you're awake on a Monday morning I think, however, that there's certainly more 'ability' needed to use MIDI drums for example, rather than pre-recorded loops.

Another one gets suckered into buying and upgrade because GT3 just doesn't cut it . Hope you enjoy the Sonar forums CJ. quote: ORIGINAL: cjlinus ... if you have a half way decent setup with a good computer and enough RAM you can record with real time effects and no noticeable latency. I used to have a Squier Mini. I did a bunch of mods to it, and eventually it sounded and played pretty cool, but I couldn't get used to the fretboard scale, so I gave it to a friend whose three-year-old was starting to take an interest in his Jems and USA Peavey and Ernie Ball guitars. In reply to PistinpantsPete quote: ORIGINAL: pistolpete Everyone has a different threshold of noticing latency. Pete, I guess that more than a year trying to get your first guitar track recorded would be a bit noticable now wouldn't it? Right now I'm down to less than 50ms in GT3 that is very usable with real time effects, not using my Presonus to bypass anything. I'm no computer genius so I figure if I can get it to work well...

Depends on how you approach loops - doing what they want you to do is easy.... Making them do what you want them to do - that's the hard part!

(Exception made for drums which are not musical in the first place ) Got to take a light-hearted exception to that Bill Check out the fiddle on this at 1:34 Buried With Time I'd never have been able to do that without MIDI (played in real-time on a...

Well I've put up the money for a couple upgrades in the Cakewalk family. I purchased Home Studio7XL because I want the ability to use midi drums like EZdrummer. The XL version ships with Studio Instruments which has a drum synth similar in idea to EZdrummer so I thought I had what I needed to justify the purchase. Unfortunately I'm still climbing the learning curve so I haven't even been able to ...

A strange problem has occured. On my old Intel computer I could use GTP3 and the 0404 SPDIF input with no problems. Now I've upgraded my computer to an AMD Dual Core and when I installed GTP3 it doesn't see the SPDIF connection at all. So there is no way for me to record my guitar via it The only other change apart from the computer is I have a Logitech Webcam installed and that is ...

Drum and bass loops are available in 16 bit and 24 bit Acidized WAV loops. Will the 24 bit work or only the 16 bit?

This is either a serious defect or just a case of a simple tweak. I had a new install of the software and there was a noticable delay in the sound in the playback when using any of the built-in effects or simulators. I tried adjusting the latency slider and was able to reduce it but it's still unusably bad. This is a major part of the product and it is terrible. Prior to purchasing this product I...

Seriously. For all the hassle this stupid program causes, it's really not worth it. Constant dropouts, failure to recognize installed sound cards and firewire devices, and then it refused to get out of auto-punch during a mixdown - even though all auto punch switches/icons were clearly turned off. Now the whole frigging sofware crashes by simply going to 'Options; Audio'. And all this on ...

I have arrived. My life as a guitar owner has truly begun. Fortunately, it's the Korean "Music Yo" Kramer that I bought used for $125. This is a guitar that could really use the added character of an obvious headstock repair. I was playing with a couple of friends last night, and I knocked it out of the stand while I was picking up my blue Jackson. It fell on the ...
