Yeah, I was part of the problem.... but when I was at GSK. This thread is hilarious, Merck might have different names for some of their marketing programs, but the rest of Pharma is doing the same bogus BS that you are! Some of my favorite "part of the problem" examples at GSK are: Luxury Suites at Portland Trail Blazer, and Seattle Super sonic Games, $175k yearly at each venue plus another 50k in drinks and food. Don't know what your job at Merck happens to be, but if you're a rep, I'd hardly call that hard work. I know from experience. I was never exhausted at the end of the day after "calling" on 7-10 docs. The job had lots of downtown and I suspect it hasn't changed all that much.
