I've checked over evrything on my Homehub settings and the correct ports are already open under the Xbox Live Preset thing thats already on it. But what im gonna do is my boyfriend says hes gonna bring his belkin router as it can work as an access point also and try that with it when he comes round next, if so, will just buy one of them or equiv. As peeps have been saying and as i can see now, Its obviously the ICS cause the issue so take...

can you ping sites using the FQDN?? i.e.. try pinging xrv.org.uk If yes then try pinging bikelane.com (gave you a UK based site and an american based site as that should check DNS and routing..) If they ping OK then your DNS is fine if not then you know it's DNS issues.. Could be simple routing issues, we used to have problems with Orange and used to get stuff like american sites, or any site not in thier own cache go down quite often One...

It's a bit too specialised for somewhere like Argos. Some other places that sell it. ---------- Post added at 15:35 ---------- Previous post was at 15:33 ---------- Pabs - bit of a difference in budget. The official 360 Wireless is ~£50+ and Powerline would be maybe £80+, vs the £25 access point.

Have you checked if there are any proxy settings set in the browser? Came across a similar situation the other day where proxy was set at 127.0.0.1

Published (2009-12-08 23:22:00)
I purchased the 655 to replace an aging Linksys BEFSR41, and have been happy with its performance. Its a more full featured router than the Linksys with loads more options than i need. It also has gigabit lan ports which i find useful. A gigabit wan port is hardly necessary with todays internet speeds, but it's there anyway. One thing i *cannot* get working though is port forwarding. On my old Linksys i had two settings in port...

Probably already checked this, but do both laptops have different IP addresses and MAC addresses? Also, is there any chance that one of them's downloading something massive (Windows updates for example) in the background and that's consuming the bandwidth? Failing that have you tried rebooting the router? Might be that it's been up for while and it's feeling the strain.

One of the easiest ways will be to use a NAS drive (network attached storage). This is basically a hard disk with a network interface. They range in prices and most of them come with lots of other functionality. You can give everyone they own personal spce and have 'public' areas pretty much any configuration you can think off. They can stream video and music to a PC act as an itunes ...

Got the same setup as you. Win7 laptop and xp desktop. All i can say is, it`s hit and miss if it can see it or not. There doesnt seem to be any valid reason why one day it can see it and then 2 days later it cant. Easiest way to do it is to install the Network Magic basic, which is free, then let network magic do its thing, then you will be able to see your xp machine.

It might be worth you doing a hard reset of the router and starting again from scratch, via the reset on the back of the router. I have just recently installed the same router and had a connection issue which wouldn't let me complete the installation process via the quick start CD. But once I turned everything off, rebooted the modem (waited for the lights to go steady), then rebooted the ...

Don't suppose the BT homehub has a DMZ?? If not then try forwarding the required ports directly.. You'll never get rid of the NAT unless you get a non-routed modem (or a modem/router and turn off the NAT but then you can only get on device on at a time.. As for the bridge it should be transparent and just like a HUB unless it's a weird one..
