Well This has been like this since Dell did it 2 years ago and ive never had to format the drive, seems to work quite well. However...... It may be the only option to use the new drive as the main drive with new partitions and start from scratch with the one thats running now, just seems such a pain to do, as I really didnt want to have to re set everything up just how I Like it, and of course, re installing all the programs will take me days....

I updated my 11.1 install at the weekend to 11.2, apart from a slight issue with grub went fine. It kept 11.1 as default selection, but it doesn't work,11.2, XP, and Mint entries work fine though. I've got gnome and kde4 on it (and a few other WMs/DEs), as I had kde4 from the early version that you could get for 10.3, and this machine has been updated from 10.3 to 11.0, 11.1 to 11.2 with ...

Right click on MY COMPUTER and select Manage Then you want the DISK MANAGEMENT, in there you should be able to see the new drive (it'll be the one without a drive letter), assign it a letter (right click on it) and even format it.. JUST DO NOT assign it as a DYNAMIC DRIVE otherwise you'll have problems later on if you move the disk elsewhere (instead assign it as a primary drive)

Most webcam softwares will allow you to stream on a port, just forward an unused port in the router and you can then access the camera from any web-browser... no need for skype even..

Get cotton buds and clean your fan. Sounds stupid but could work. My system started to do the same and thats what it was my fan full of dust. If it was overheating the computer would make an annoying beeping sound.

Ouch. What surface are you using it on? If it's your lap, try a desk with good air flow. It shouldn't suddenly start overheating, it would happen gradually. Even so, 98 degrees is much too hot. It might have lots of dust in it.

In most companies, 1st line support is the helpdesk/support people most customers will deal with. They can optionally refer people to the 2nd line support, who will deal with more advanced queries, and may deal with some of the backend stuff the user never sees. Third line is there to deal with the queries that 2nd line can't deal with, and will primarily deal with the backend stuff the ...

Suggestion: Do your initial Back-up as normal. Then when you need to backup again (for example the following week), have the next backup stored in another folder (dated preferably for ease of use) then in 6-8 weeks, check through your backups, and then delete the earliest. Thats how I do it. Never lost anything important yet ---------- Post added at 15:59 ---------- Previous post ...

Nothing as you can't select remove device unless there is a card in them.. The "safely remove" option is just so when you remove a device that it doesn;t have a file still open and corrupt it
