Hello there, I am keen to explore the possibility of working for Virgin as either an installation engineer or field technician. I have experience in the electronic sector as an electrical engineer. After looking on their website I see there was a job available that fits my criteria however I am now stuck for applying as the electronic form says that I have withdrawn and I am unable to re-apply. Can anybody help or advise of someone I could...

VM to begin expanding its cable...
Published (2009-12-15 12:22:00)
I'm sure VM would cable every house in the UK if it was commercially viable, but in some areas they'd never recoup the cost of laying the cables. They are still paying for the cables laid down in the 90's.

Incidently, I would pay £100 for installation if I had the chance to get rid of ADSL. I know a few that would pay this fee. Although some people who are non the wiser probably wouldn't find this attractive.

I`ve just read a bit about TIVO. I would think Virgin will put some kind of blocking software on it rather than loose customers wouldn't they.

Think about what you'd like an installer to be like with you as the customer. Can you be like that? Let the interviewer know.

Whereas what the guy did was totally stupid and deserved punishing, you have to think how bad VM's service must have been for a customer to react that way. Anyway it happened to me when I worked for 'NTL' on tech support. Some guy called up ranting and raving that his webspace was down and was losing money by the hour because of NTL etc. When I reminded him he only had a personal account ...
