Try resetting the BIOS via the motherboard jumper and see if that helps at all. Alternatively, remove the cmos battery for a few minutes and operate the power switch before replacing the battery, this will also reset the BIOS. I take it you have connected any cpu
specific power supply connectors?

For my money I would go for the top one, the Dell Studio D005418, the processor speeds are close enough not to be noticeable, though the second one has more cache. The ram is also not a consideration on
the 2nd one, 4Gb Ram on a 32bit OS won't be fully usable anyway and the screen and graphics card are a higher spec. The acers I am leaving out of the equation based on my experience with ...

*ahem* both of you have updated with the
microsoft windows update version of the drivers, you need to go to the ATi website and download THEIR version of the drivers. What are the cards in question? The drivers may need patching for some mobile graphics cards and I will be happy to help.

QUOTE (Barzey @ Aug 21 2009, 11:13 PM) Yet again NIS 2009 is switching itself off again. I have seen one other posting about it today on another forum where the chap has managed to get through to Symantec and done the usual re-install. But I have been waiting for them to answer for 56 minutes at the moment and will have to disconnect at 59 and therefore join the
ruddy queue again....
