Graham Cluley November 28, 2009 Cybercriminals have wasted no time taking advantage of the news that the world's number one golfer, Tiger Woods, has been involved in a car accident outside his house in Florida. Hackers have created webpages claiming to contain video content related to the accident where Tiger Woods reportedly crashed his car into a fire hydrant and tree as he left his home at 02:25 local time. (See screenshot) However,...

I've tried to avoid any urination contest by asking to be proved wrong. I am willing to accept the fact that I could be wrong. But when it comes to being proved wrong, the closest thing I got was a link to a site that was supposed to be about Mac Trojans but was really about Safari Public Beta and another link of a Mac security blogger that, from what I've read so far, only reinforces what I've been saying. I even spent a lot...

All I am saying in a discussion it shouldn't be "Never", hasn't ever happened with this or that. I asked you questions, which evidently didn't get answered. Which is okay because it is after all a discussion board. Thing of it is that the subject was dealing fake security sites, once bitten how to deal with and not with "Mac" versus "Windows". By saying what you did you made it into a p*ssing match...

There have not been any catchable viruses for the Mac in the wild since the introduction of Mac OSX in 2000, that is, for nearly ten years. By virus, I mean the normal definition of viruses, namely damaging programmes that are spread from computer to computer, normally by means of some infected document or photo, and which spread through your computer damaging other documents, photos, music files etc. By June 2009 there had been some dozen...

I have also had this happen to me. I panicked, because the pop-up literally would NOT let me "x" it out, nor would it let me get rid of it in any way. I felt very helpless, and my Norton did not stop it. I saw the same statement: " You're computer is infected.. blah blah blah." Only I knew NOT to click on yes, so I clicked on NO and nothing happened. I then tried to "x" it out ...

Hi clahman, This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team and I would be glad to help you out with Norton 360. Your computer most likely came with a trial version of a Norton product pre-installed, and the installer is acting correctly when it told you it was first removing the older version, but it appears that the uninstaller did not work properly. To resolve this issue,...

Graham Cluley November 23, 2009 Two weeks ago I reported on Ikee, the world's first iPhone worm which was spreading between jailbroken devices in Australia, replacing wallpaper with an image of Rick Astley. As Chet reports on his blog , this weekend has seen the discovery of a new example of iPhone malware in the shape of a worm (dubbed "Duh" after a section of its code) that ...
