I don't know if quicktime (v10 or pro) will open the file, but if it does, you can '
save as' to a format you want. In VLC, you can go to File > Streaming/Export Wizard and possibly convert the file to a compatible format. While I don't know if these will work for this type of file, it's worth a try.

Does this happen using the built-in keyboard and mouse or do you use external devices? Are they using Bluetooth? I sometimes have my
Bluetooth mouse stop responding for no reason. When it happens try connecting a USB keyboard and mouse and see if they respond. You could also try logging in from another machine via ssh and see which, if any, processes are misbehaving. More details ...

Once you actually quit from Grab, it should not still be running after a shut down. The only application that runs after a shutdown is Finder. Right click the icon in the dock and Force Quit. Restart and see what happens P

the whole package. Isn't iLife included for no additional cost? And iWork comes on it too, a trial version, with a minimal cost to purchase a permanent license. Now, how about free OS support? From Microsoft? No. Free hardware support? (not as sure about this one) Does the Dark Side offer anything comparable to AppleCare?

The Mac is quite capable of viewing CD-R disks and the images on them. You have mentioned finalizing the disk. This MUST be done before the disk is usable in the Mac. You will find that option somewhere in the
CD burning software on your PC. As to the error, you may well have a faulty burner on the PC. Why not move the images using a thumbdrive? P

I don't run an Apple. But in Windows I wouldn't trust a hard disk giving pending bad sectors and replace it by a new one. No risk for me. But you may like to try a repair. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1641 for that. If it's a diskette or a USB stick (you didn't tell), I'd
throw it away. Kees
