Can't Open Operating...
Published (2009-11-12 13:19:00)
Thanks Mark, Some of my friends have often recommended that I install Firefox, but I was reluctant to do so, because I didn't have the need. But, now that I do have the need, I am quite happy to have both browsers on my computer. I won't be performing any surgery on IE, because of that minefield... Cheers, Mick.

'Page not found'
Published (2009-11-12 14:05:00)
The reason behind this is because old threads are less likely viewed by people, so the system doesn't load (cache) those page until needed. And sometimes during the process of the system retrieving those buried threads, the system may take longer than usual to retrieve causing the page to time out--giving you the "Page not found." However, once that page has been retrieved (or awakened), it usually will load thereafter with no...

Top right of any discussion, "Forum display:" I've moved from Tree view to Threaded view, and I find I rarely get these "Page not found" pages now. I use Firefox, and I don't use IE in these forums that often, so I just assumed this was a general 'archived' thread issue. Mark

Survey pop up
Published (2009-11-13 20:40:00)
I just registered as a site reviewer on McAfee Sitewatch. I posted a review (negative, of course) about the excessive pop-ups. I hope others will follow suit so maybe we can shame them into stopping the madness! Here's the link. Click here, scroll down to the bottom and then click "register to review this site." http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/voicefive.com Denise

'Page not found'
Published (2009-11-13 22:40:00)
Yah, FF is indeed my default browser. But this problem doesn't necessarily follow your explanation. Yesterday when the 'page not found' result finally reached the boiling point, I only tried one thread in one forum. Yes, I tried Chrome right away and it opened the same thread no problem. But THEN I tried opening another thread with Chrome that had been originally started in 2005 or 2006...and Chrome opened it perfectly; I...

DYS-HARMONY REMOTES SUCK
Published (2009-11-07 08:12:00)
Dear CNET, I have had a terrible experience both with my DYS-HARMONY 900 and with their LACKOFSERVICE contacts. I seriously think you need to re-rate the product. If you look at consumer reviews, everybody hates it except the people who work for DYS-HARMONY. Could you relook at this product. I suggest faking a problem and then trying to interface with their LACKOFSERVICE staff. You will learn the true meaning of hell. I have had good luck...

Block product reviews
Published (2009-11-06 05:17:00)
I appreciate at least an attempt. Ive been holding until the release of the Droid (on 6 NOV) for a new phone to see some user reviews of the Droid compared to the Storm 2 and iPhone 3GS, and the Droid started 'fresh' with 37 Reviews, all dated Nov 5th or earlier.. Perhaps have a separate option for "comments" so those that feel compelled to can express their thoughts before the release without actually messing with user...

FAQ: I want to delete my account... Cnet does not have a formal method of letting a member delete, or request the deletion of, his/her account. Instead, it is generally recommended that you unsubscribe from any newsletters, unsubscribe from any tracked threads, edit your personal profile if you wish, logout, and not use your account again. However, if you have a specific need to have your account deleted you may click here and use the webform...

If that doesn't work, go here to the Windows 7 forum: http://forums.cnet.com/windows-7-forum/ And on the left nav, choose which Windows forum you'd like to access. the remote. What I will do is forward your complaint on to the CNET Editors who reviewed the product, so they know about the issues you're having. I'm not going to say that your complaint will change their rating, but at least they will have heard your complaint. I've seen that you have already written your own CNET user review on the product, kudos to you, that's a good first step ...

Let me talk to the CNET Reviews product manager to see what we can do to curb this type of review posting when the product has not been released to the general public. Thanks for your feedback! -Lee Koo CNET Community

The footer does sit in the middle of the page partially covering the content of the page. If you allow the page to load first then scroll it doesn't happen. I will bring this to the attention of the Download.com product manager to see can address this issue. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. -Lee CNET Community
