Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer. All support Flash. Good chance that one of them will show that particular file. The start using that for all Flash-pages you want to look at. Spybot, SAS, MBAM are looking for things other than trojans, virus and such. I know it's hard but today's exploits and infections are so varied that we use a lot of tools to find them all. But your new post reminds me of a pest that was not found by SAS or MBAM. But first. I find Spybot to be dated and don't suggest it any longer. It can also result in slow machines due to interactions with some antivirus programs. ->...

PC GAMING

A good resource for learning what to look for when shopping for PC's- http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pc-scout/laptop-speed-facts.aspx While I would not consider myself a heavy PC gamer, I have seen plenty of people who bought low-end "gaming pcs" and have been pretty upset with the results. My advice is to do your research and don't try to go cheap. #samsung_links a { text-decoration:none; font-family:arial,helvetica;...

Sorry for the delay in responding. I did notice the 2nd item right just as I hit the submit button! I don't recall if I mentioned this was happening on my daughter's computer... After spending a little bit of time on her computer, I see it's also throwing up new browser windows with these ads or undesired web pages although she has a pop-up blocker up and running. To update... I downloaded the SuperAntispyware program and ran...

I looked through the programs list and I dont recall installing any programs at the time, yesterday I tried to repair AND reinstall the whole program (Win word MS office pro) but it didnt do anything. Those settings you mentioned, are you talking about general computersettings or settings for specific programs?

I have a HP pavilion ze5000,with Windows XP(client pack 1.0),IE 7, Firefox 3.5.5,Thunderbird 2.0.0.22. It does a myriad of weird stuff, but the 2nd most crazy, maddening thing is that the ID-Password keeper may or may not show up to store new logins AND for already stored passwords it often is missing for long time accounts(like this one-no help for login). It obviously has the program,it simply has these failure to apply or even show up. Can...

I have been running 7 on 3 computers and I have no complaints. this is not to say it is perfect, but it is an improvement over vista AND xp. Better security stack, better hometheater capabilities, faster in many respects. Overall I would say, if your devices are supported, make the plunge. You will not be disappointed. If you are trully smart though, invest in a mac lol

Hi: It's quite a pity, but in spite of having tried hard, I haven't been able now to find an example page or html file saved in my hard. When I find one I'll let you know. In the meanwhile, thanks for your post. Regards. Enrique.

Can't get rid of Security Tool
Published (2009-11-30 13:16:00)
This is the very reason why I don't use Norton because it always lets deadly infections on your computer no matter how up to date it is. After the 3rd time Norton let my computer get infected I stopped using it and starting using free anti virus software avast. Never had any problems since after 4 years. Just something I thought I'd mention in this thread seeing as it is related. The point I'm trying to say is not all paid for...

OCR. Optical Character Recognition. Software that will look at a picture, find letters/text, and convert them to a document. Your new printer should have that software. If not, contact them.

I would get a second hard drive for 40 -50 bucks and make a copy of my
current hard drive once this formatting is done.
I would also unplug it from the ribbon cable so it is unaccessible once
this cloning operation is done. Every time you make additions to your
"daily use" drive that make it more valuable, such as adding a new program
or new data that you want, simply plug the second drive back ...

I don't use Word 2007 so I am assuming it is basically the same as previous Word versions. Have you closed down Word and re-opened it yet? If Normal.dotm had been deleted, this would have re-created it. Have you tried to open this "newdoc.dotm" as a template file? Try this. Find all instances of Normal.dotm using Explorer or My Computer, or the search option in the STart menu, (if ...

Your current situation is exactly why computers should be setup with no less than TWO admin accounts...just in case one takes a dump. That said, if you're using Windows XP, please restart the computer into Safe Mode.. Once there, see if the hidden administrator account shows up.(The account will be listed as: administrator ) If so, and IF you haven't created a password for it, leave...

Event 6005 in the System part of Event log tells when the Event service was started. That's quite soon during boot, I think. Have a look and see if this is something you can use. Kees

I'm having the same problem with the chkdsk error and I tried the simple
solution you suggested, and by doing it manually, it still says the same
thing the command prompt says. I will try some of the websites that were
listed in this thread but are there any other ways of fixing this problem
that are mostly simple besides reinstalling?

You mentioned a network icon in the system tray that was blinking but a yellow exclamation point in device manager for the Ethernet controller. Unless that device is functioning properly, it won't show up in the tray. It may be a 1394 (firewire) or wireless device. It sounds as if the DSL isn't the problem but an Ethernet device that's not functional. It could just need a driver which...
