Can this be made on a Tormach ?

The metal business cards could be made by chemical milling using Ammonium persulfate or ferric chloride with resist pattern printed using a laser printer.

twocik, I don't think that it would be a successful job for a Tormach. There are a couple of challenges. To mill the lettering, you will want to use a simplified, "pen plotter" type of font and a very small cutter to keep the stroke width proportional to the font height. I'm attaching a picture of a toolrack I made the other day for my Proxxon tools. I used the Proxxon to do the lettering with my Tormach. The font...

We do a lot of engraving of our machine panels and the appearance would be not as nice, although engraving works well. There is a minimum size for the fonts and the variety of fonts is limited. The business card that you show was probably Photo-etched (as described in the other comments) or laser-cut, then polished or anodized (surface treatment), then imprinted (white letters) or deep-etched and color filled. Laser marking does not work,...

Machining with TTS toolholders
Published (2009-11-18 17:37:00)
I use up to 8 tools to make some of my parts. I could not imagine how to do that efficiently without the TTS holders and a tool library. I agree that when the Power drawbar becomes available the ease of changing tools will be eased a bit. At least until the tool carousel comes out?

Dave, thank you for posting this. I'm gonna need to print it out and study it to do it justice. I'm on the verge of redoing the head door, to replace the hinge with cabinet slides to move it vertically instead. (With my full enclosure, I currently need to set M998 position at 0.5 inches below Z homing for the head door to clear the enclosure.) For me, the biggest reduction in noise was to ...

I would get the instructions and double check your installation. I have just received my Spindle Uprade kit which had two documents. One discusses the installation of M3, the speed calibration via XML TweakW and software revision information. The Tormach filename is TD_31127A SPINDLE UPGRADE CONTROL SOFTWARE.DOCX, date 11/17/2008. The other is a Tormach Drawing D40194 which shows ...
