I custom manufacture a remote control turbine jet. There are a few parts that I make from wood that I have been scribing a template, cutting out the wood, to make the part. I currently have access to a laser cutter for a lot of parts, and I own a Tormach CNC machine. There are such complex shapes to some of these "formers" that I have never been able to draw it quite right....

Find a copy of Precision Machine Design by Alexander Slocum at MIT. Actually, a lot of his material is available on the web if you google for it. That book will teach you a lot about what you need to know. Match ground angular contact bearings are preloaded correctly when they are installed. Unmatched angular contact bearings aren't likely to keep the runout down. A pair of ...

Hello all, Recently I posted a problem I was having with the ATC on our VMC. It turns out that I didn't fully understand how a random dual-arm ATC is supposed to be programmed. Evidently, tool #1 is not necessarily ATC position #1. Can anyone shed some light on how to call up tools on this type of ATC? Thanks in advance, Dan

Hello all, Going in the morning to pickup a end mill. Wanted to know what to look for in the mill being good or bad. Also, found out that the mill is 7 to 8 years old, but was used only 30 hours. It is a Central Machinery(Harbor Freight) and looks very similar to this one, with the differ of the unit I am buying is a 2hp 220v, instead of the 1 1/2hp 120v. http://www....

So I make these banjo arm rests for my father using a retro CNC Bridgeport.. http://www.littlemountainmusic.com/banjo.htm Currently, they are made from Corian, yes, the same thing Dupont sells and is most commonly used to make countertops... I was against if at first, but I have to say it makes for a nice finished product, but slightly brittle... But VERY colorful! ...

We are looking at purchasing a RLM3508 Arboga Maskiner Radial Arm Drill. It is in good shape but if I ever needed to get replacement parts, are they avaialble. I can't find anything on the web regarding the company's status. I am assuming they are no longer in business. If I encounter a problem, will I have a difficult time finding parts? Also, any info regarding this machines ...
