Yes, that was my plan. I will have a flatbed truck. I will not have the mill on a skid, but I will put 2x or 4x4 boards around the base and screw those down to prevent movement of the base. I can also run some screws through the base to the bed of the truck.

I found that my problem is something to do with velocity vs. acceleration. If I use the intial settings of 30:1 I have no problem. I am running at 75:1 at the moment, but as soon as I increase the acceleration I run into problems.

I had similar things happen once, a faulty cooling fan behind the spindle controller was to blame.

Hey fellas,
It's time to let the first of my machines go...tear.., I have a TC22 that has only cut plastic and maybe run coolant and run alum twice...3x tops, never any steel. We focus on prototypes and our main product is plastic prototypes. We have never run production cycles on this machine. Years ago I loaded Win 3.11 and Ethernet linked this machine to our computer network. We program ...

what don't you understand? The handwheel turns a worm that drives a worm gear(2j547) for speed adjustment. This wraps a chain(2j572) around a pulley (2j514) that will pull down the clutch arm (2j507). When the arm is pulled down against the clutch the two sheaves (2j533)(2j534)force the belt out to a larger diameter, which in turn increases the pitch diameter on the driven clutch and decreases ...

Just wrap a strap around the ram, between the base and head.

Not too long ago FeatureCAM came with EZUTLS for communication with a Bridgeport. This included EZLINK for communication through port B.
The BOSS 8 and 9 posts were identical and were also included. Call them if you do not have these posts. They should be available.
I used EZCAM on a MAC with my BOSS 9 but always modified my programs using loops and macros for multi-part fixtures (no 3D stuff) ...

After some years use the metering ports at the end of each lube point can become clogged, usually the only way is to replace the metering device, each has a number stamped on it indicating the orifice number.
Often only a couple of ports end up with lube, when the rest get clogged.
Can't tell you if the spindle gets lubed this way however.

FYI, there is a dedicated bridgeport forum here:
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1 57
It looks like a retrofitted Series 1 BOSS mill. I have one at home but I can't tell you how tall it is. I think 89" will be cutting it pretty close. Maybe someone on the bridgeport forum knows offhand. There are a lot of guys over there with similar machines.
