If NOT Dalton...Then who?

QUOTE (Trident @ 7 November 2009 - 10:56) He looks particularly Dalton/LTK-like in that shot above. But apart from that I really feel he's an entirely different character that would have given Bond a whole new dynamic. He's much less 'serious' much more 'playful'. Isaacs would have given the series a different impulse at that time, one that would have opened other directions....

The man does not exist. Well IMDB have a Finley Light with one credit from 1978. No biographical details, so can't say if he's Australian, but if you average out the ages of the 6 actors when...

I wouldn't be surprised if a Finlay Light exists. Less surprised than I would be by Bigfoot anyway.

I would have liked to see a third Dalton movie, not necessarily Dalton in GoldenEye. Actually, Dalton in GoldenEye would have been a different movie altogether- in tone and content. GoldenEye, as it is, is Brosnan's movie. This post has been edited by Jose : Yesterday, 11:18 PM

My view of Isaacs is that he has the acting skill to become whatever character is needed. I believe he would have made a fantastic Bond. This post has been edited by Binyamin : Today, 10:28 PM

My choice would be Ian Ogilvy. Long live The Saint!!!!!!!!! I recall specifically in June of '86 Entertainment Tonight announcing that Australian actor, Finlay Light had the role. They displayed a photo of him and John Tesh joked that his name sounded like a beer commercial. Anyone know anything about him?

QUOTE(The Ghost Who Walks @ 16 August 2009 - 15:41) and the script feels, as pointed out by many, like it was written with Dalton's portrayal in mind. I can't see it. The GE script is clearly written for a more rounded Bond. Dalton's bitter, stale, take on the role would feel completely out of place in many scenes. A third Dalton film would be totally different (and probably less...

This is good, however I don't think it's different enough from the actual film. Who would you cast in all of the roles, and who would you have direct/score/perform the title song?

M would have let him off the hook. He would have understood what Bond was going through thus allowing him some flack. To a certain extent I believe M knew exactly how Bond was going to react and knew he could use it to his advantage. One thing is sure though, being old school M most certainly gave our man Bond one hell of a bollocking back at HQ.

I prefer TLD, feels more like a traditional Bond movie to me. Love the Aston Martin! "Now pay attention, Double-0-7!" Double-0-7 on myspace.com
