Gmax is a free modeling program, albeit it lacks features. Just searching it in google will give you a ton of places to download it. Although Liam insists that Google sketch up can also be used for importable models, and it really is much easier to use in my opinion. Oh and modeling is pretty hard so you got to stick with it, people play editors and stuff in games like forge and then think, ...

What is this CS4 3D software your talking about, do you mean the 3D layers option in Photoshop? I dont think there is any adobe 3D software I have the CS3 extened suite with 3D support for PS and use CS4 in uni but dont know any 3D stuff, got any screenshots of what you mean?
