You said it yourself... you let him off with nothing wore than a slap on the wrist. That's YOUR issue. I'd have suspended him for three days. (I'd really like to have taken the $ out of his pay, but you can't do that here.)

Licensing is a
double edged sword and is always purported to be for the protection of the consumer. At the very best it works to establish minimum standards required by someone performing the work. At the very worst it is merely a revenue generator for some level of government. I realize that it is very difficult for customers to be informed enough to protect themselves from shysters....

I'm not renewing. Good organization with plenty of things to offer, but work is slow here, and I only have one regular employee. Nothing needed to buy for teaching, training aids.... They want $563 for businesses doing 100-200k.....just a bit high. If I were doing more work and marketing harder, I'd renew....

Shame on you for thinking that your pubescent appearance is a negative. When you take the scene, you exude professionalism and authority. If you know your stuff, you can take the role of patient educator, and people will naturally listen to you. I have gone through what you are going through. Don't combat your childish appearance by gaining
300 pounds like I did. That will ...

as an employee, there were sometimes really hard crummy jobs for which I was paid more than my regular rate, but there was never anything for which I was paid less. I suppose I'd rather get less pay with a substantial decrease in expected productivity than to not get hours at all, but I think you are potentially setting yourself for misunderstandings and a headache....

I hate giving free estimates. I wish I could charge for estimates. However, I cannot charge money if my competitors aren't. Potential customers would bi-pass me for the next guy who doesn't charge.

I'd be
willing to fly up there and put them all safely on the ground for you Sean. Are any of them over 150 feet? My longest bull line is 300 ft. Do you have a Hobbs? It may be possible to get all 6 of them down in 2 days with a 120 ton hydrocrane. Pics would be nice. jomoco
