crap. You're all right... crap... crapity crap crap. THATS why I'm still really unsettled about DP being so much nicer to me and to Jasper. Because he's CHOSEN to switch off 'jerk mode'... which mean he CHOSE to switch it on in the first place. Well... my eyes are wide open... I'm getting Jasper's name changed to my surname while DP trying to win me back - thats the only perminant thing that matters... if...

You don't have to tell anyone you're pregnant. Ring up a domestic violence hotline and ask for help. Ring Centrelink and ask for help. Just ring one of those lines right now. I know everything seems overwhelming but you will get there if you can just start taking the small steps that you need to take... there is help out there.

No. not harsh. Sometimes people are no good for us and it sounds like your mum has a lot of issues that she refuses to acknowledge. It also sounds like your life is going to be a whole lot less complicated from now on. I'm at the same point with my mum, who was a terrible parent growing up and I recently I found out she was bagging one of my children I actually WISH she would send me an email like that so I could cut her out of my life...

DD Grandparents Just Spilt
Published (2010-01-02 19:41:00)
When DD was that age and asked, she was just told that grown ups sometimes stop liking each other, and that sometimes people can be better friends if they're not sharing the same house. As she got older (she was 9 for the most recent split) I was able to say that they were having "issues" that was between Gran and her hubby and that it was nothing she needed details on. I've separated from her Dad, so she also had...

I'm so sorry honey ... maybe it's time to change your profile name to 'finallysmelledthecoffee' hope you can see the lighter side of that! At least now you are aware - and fully aware and can see the bad stuff and are ready to move on. You'll only ever go forwards from here babe. You sound so strong... you really sound ready to go...

IF (and I say if cause I'm not sure that I would based on just one incident personally -but you know them as a couple) I'd actually be directing any comments at him! He may just need a 'pull your head in' type conversation so that he realises that others are aware, without blowing the whole thing out of proportion if there aren't other issues

You tell your DH's parents to be grownups and keep adult issues away from children's ears. As for the kids... at that age they generally aren't too curious about grownup matters (unless of course they are vey attached to both grandparents) and a simple explanation like "they didn't want to live together any more" is enough. DD's Grandma has just split with husband #4 so I'm old hand at it...

I could not read and not post something. DP and myself are like that to a point, but we make an effort to go out at least once a month to hang out with friends and be adults, talk with grown ups. I am not a social person, neither is DP, but we do get the need to get out every now and again to unwind like the 23 year old adults we are instead of the 23 year old family orientated parents we also...

The problem with smoking and young children is that chemicals are still exhaled a long time after smoking. One of the reasons co-sleeping is a no-no. Also, smoke chemicals are on his clothing and can be transferred to the baby from there. If you can smell it, they are there. His hand washing and teeth brushing is good, but the chemicals are being exhaled from his lungs. I was a smoker who ...

You're not overreqacting and definitely not being silly. Sounds like he's having a mini mid-life crisis. Tell him he's too old to start giving in to peer pressure to act like an idiot and stay away from his family.

My BIL had a baby who is 2 months older then my DS. I am going to give my opinion from the other mothers point of view. My DS was planned. he was going to be the first grandchild on both sides of the family. We had the granparents involved for the whole pregnancy and MIL was even outside the door when DS was born! A few months before christmas last year the blood test that this *girl* had ...
