Sorry, I'm confusing you. I was meaning we need to be monitoring when it disconnects itself from a good speed and reconnects at a lower one. To re-sync tomorrow use whatever method you normally do. I know of three:- 1) DMT if it works with your router has a Re-sync button, (and a Reboot one but that's rarely needed); 2) Disconnect the ADSL cable and reconnect it after a few seconds; 3) Power cyle the router. Anything that...

In reply to a post by RobertoS : Do a re-sync well into daytime tomorrow to get the sync back up. With the low sync you have now it might be stable so we won't get any worthwhile info. We need to see what RS records through a disconnection. I take it that to maintain RS logging, by re-sync you mean a physical discon of the connection & recon but not a power cycle on the router???

I've done a few estimates and it looks like 16Mbps for me - but it is not all about speed, my current speed (around 6Mbps) is absolutely fine. After all the discounts have finished I should be on at least as good (and probably better) for about half price, with the ISP who comes top in several surveys. There has to be a down side but I haven't yet found it

That's him. Unfortunately the BT tests we have show your average throughput at being mid-4000's. I'm assuming you've had some good speedtest results in the midst of all the bad ones? well it does look bad but we can't really comment without the line statistics from your router. If you need help getting those then Kitz has a lot of help here . Its possible you've hit multiple problems, trouble with your line and plusent's recent overload. Show us the router stats and we can probably help. I recently moved from Greenbee to Plusnet so was in a similar situation to you.
In answer to your questions:
1. My BB changeover was seamless, got an email to say it had been done & just logged back in again using my new PN details.
2. I'm sure that's possible as I kept my Waitrose email address when I moved over ( I had previously kept it when I went from Waitrose to ...

You've basically got it right.
If you have no intention of leaving in under 12 months then sign up for 12 months. If you leave earlier you just have to pay the costs you avoided at the start.
The only people who should pay up front are those who know they won't stay 12 months, and even that is daft as the money in the meantime is better in their bank than Plusnet's.

I am very sorry to hear this.
I do wish James every success in his new role (which happens to be one I have done before, in another life). I personally think it may not be as challenging or rewarding (mentally, not financially) as what he is doing already.
Sorry James - can't help it - I hope I'm wrong.

Hi John,
I believe it's in the region of 50-66%. At least it certainly used to.
A larger number of those people don't get that far these days, because they speak to our customer options team, but I would still expect the proportion to be quite high.
We are also currently looking at the way which cancellation payments are generated after a customer leaves us.
