As rockdoctor says. You can also do it yourself if you have a suitable version of the Netgear routers, and you can tune it more finely than the single 3dB step support can give you. For instance I can run fairly stably on about 2.3dB, and as I don't mind a couple of disconnections per day I often run lower than that. I've escaped at last!! My migration away from o2 completed this morning and email sent to o2 to confirm. Getting the full 5500kbps for the profile of my line at the moment and decent ping time (21ms to bbc) What a relief! At around 5pm yesterday everything was being redirected in my web broswer to a BT Wholesale page. I thought maybe my migration had completed...turns out (after confirmation from my new isp that migratiion...

Do you even understand how Be's LLU works? You can't make a statement like that, when you toot your horn by saying the O2 sucks (yes that's exactly how you post, you always fail to mention that it is Access ). Yes we would like to hear about your issue on Access, but right now, we know O2 had Acess Capacity Issues on their BT Centrals. We know they are trying to implement traffic shaping. We know it's...

In reply to a post by RobFlet : Anyone any ideas why the BB works great, but no phone ... The OpenReach engineer working on behalf of O2's request to move you over made a bit of a mistake - or the paperwork for the exchange is wrong. OpenReach may already know about the issue and working on a fix. I suggest you wait about 24 hours, then call BT's voice faults team and report the issue exactly as you've described...

Sounds as if BT haven't correctly jumpered the PSTN network to the O2 DSLAM. They may have left it connected to the (Orange or) BT Wholesale one.
The layout is that your line is connected to the DSLAM and the PSTN service is connected to the DSLAM to get onto your line.

Read all the pages inside this one except the " ADSL router locking up" one.
Particular things to check are the time of day you connect, Sky boxes, ring/bell wires, plug-in extension cables and builder-installed extensions. Plus possible faulty/missing filters.
It would be a good idea to see what the stats are connecting the router ( during daylight ) into the test socket on the...

Whatever the connection speed, the download speed is going to be far better . The 1meg estimate is junk - your current stats tell us the truth - just over 2Mbps the same as now..
On that line, after the first few days of DLM, you will probably squeeze a bit more if we force the O2 Box to ADSL2 instead of ADSL2+.
Let us know how things go.

Give it a try.
I got my SNRM lowered to 3dB and the speed increased a lot. The connection has been very stable (although there are a lot of errors recorded), so it suits me.
If you don't like the stability at 3dB you can always get them to put it back up.

Your link doesn't work because it was a session created for your visit.
But you are right, it isn't that simple. There is something very important missing from the instructions you post.
It doesn't work unless you connect the other end of the yellow cable into an ethernet port on a switched on computer, or establish a wireless connection from one.

When you say you are not in range, do you mean it is available on your exchange but you are too far away, or are you on a different exchange from two streets away?
If you post a link to your exchange details from samknows and the line stats from your router, see here for help , they may show that with a bit of effort you can get O2 LLU.
As you seem to know, O2 Access is ...

Some people find they need a 20-minute disconnection or so to get a different router to connect. I never had that problem.
However I recommend using the O2 box until you get the message saying things are fine. The speed may increase as DLM runs until you get that message. Then it is switched off.
Messing at the moment, seeing as the Netgear doesn't connect, could upset the DLM...

Can't check as not got windows 7 but i'd think you should be able to establish which ports uPnP is opening up via the CLI somehow which might give a clue to what windows7 is upto.
Anything mentioned in the event logs on the pc itself?
Is there anything mentioned here: http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/games/ov/?be=0&l0=2&l1= 4 in the router?

You can certainly supply the MAC later on O2, bur a decent ISP should give you your MAC very quickly. I don't know about Be.
The services are basically identical and run over the same network so if either gets congested then both will.
Read MKD's costing document if you haven't already done so. Don't forget the cashback sites.

yes I've just had an email from O2 offering the same thing.
It's been on the O2 forum as possible phishing but I'm not sure.
It had my full name which phishing wouldn't have.
Waiting for O2 to answer the phone now to ask them.
edit O2 confirm it's legit :=)

In reply to a post by Tenjiso : Will O2 enable fastpath if requested?
No. o2's home broadband LLU circuits are all uniformly configured and Interleaved - for options of Fastpath you need to go to Be (Unltd/Pro) and pay their premium prices. The only thing o2 will adjust is the S:N margin if you speak to them and are clear you understand what/why you want to adjust it - eg down to ...

Seeing as a replacement box is on its way I don't think there is anything to be done until it arrives. I would check when it was sent, as it should have arrived by now.
