In reply to a post by ConsumersFriend : Really getting tired of Entanet! After spending months getting them to accept a problem on one line, now we have another line on 21CN adsl2+ close to exchange & that had synch's at 14-15mb with snr of 9-10db for months. Now for no reason the router reports a snr of 19db!! Have tried reboots to no avail, changed router & filter also. Router also reports achievable d/s of 20644000...

woohoo 3 cheers for UKFSN. it's fixed! randomly tried it and I'm back to my usual 8mb profile. my tip for checking this kind of thing is to install the dos port of wget http://users.ugent.be/~bpuype/wget/ and periodically run the command c:\>wget http://fuller.zen.co.uk/test/10MB_nonzero.bin ukfsn 8mb@8mb

If your current download speed is 4Mb/s or better the answer is generally yes as it will benefit you. Otherwise you wont see any improvement in download speed (and may actually see a slight reduction) however you might experience an increase in upload speed. Sorry, I didn't spot it was a link. See how things go, as you have signed up. But if it isn't satisfactory I suggest you contact Xilo or vivaciti. I think both of those can offer LLU ADSL2+ on monthly contract there. Almost certain to be better. buy a router with qos and priortise the WOW ports, he wont even notice. even if the latency does slightly increase, a steady ping is fine for gaming regardless if its slightly higher or not.

In reply to a post by aquiss : Morning, In reply to a post by jimwillsher : Are all resellers aware of this tool do you think? We have been aware for about 3 weeks, and have had a couple of conversations to understand how it works and how to fit this into our working and fault trackers. We are yet to use it ourselves in anger, but I understand Entanet have been testing it. Is this the 'BTw Customer Control of Profile (CCOP) - ADSLMax...

Should be free from interference as Enta's L2TP customers are buying an amount of capacity it's up to them to police it

Not really Jason, WebTapestry charge £67.99 +Vat, add phone line at £10.95 and it's about £23pm more then I'm paying now, Zens equivalent is about another £12pm. The advantage of having the two lines is that if I max out the connection on FTP or Usenet it doesn't affect my sons gaming, as he is Autistic he gets overly upset if anything affects his World of Warcraft...

In reply to a post by Vigalent : I asked EntaNet what had happened, and they said the system did not detect a resync (even though my sync speed went from 24?? to 2337). When I questioned EntaNet on how this could be, supprise, supprise they didn't have an answer.
If BT see an increase in the amount of errors, this can trigger the SNR to be increased. I had a similar problem....

Fibre cut around Manchester. They fixed one then found it had been cut twice.
The second cut seemed to be inside a railway tunnel and they had to wait untill the trains stopped running.
So yea, gippos after coper again, fekking up the interwebs.
