The Touchables Rarely seen UK swinging 60's film. Good cast including the gorgeous Judy Huxtable, great score (Wynder K Frog, Nirvana etc), but not quite the undiscovered gem I expected. Very much of its kind.

Tamzin Outhwaite in a very dodgy Rumanian set 'thriller' called 7 Seconds. It's a Wesley Snipes vehicle full of car chases and shoot 'em ups. The plot is quite clever but it is ruined by terrible dialogue and really fast crash editing that makes Quantum of Solace seem rather sedate. Tamzin does well wih the action stuff but looks suitable embarassed when delivering lines such as 'you f-----g shitbag'. Avoid ......

Watched two films last night. The first one was "Hotel Reserve" which I didn't really find very interesting at all, in spite of a good cast - I'll probably watch it again, but I won't be going back to it in a hurry. The second was an American RKO B picture, "Destination Murder" which, going from the description in Halliwell's, seemed to have very little going for it. I enjoyed every...

Breakaway 1956 Neat 50's "B" film starring urbane Tom Conway. Bruce Seton, Brian Worth, Freddy Mills, Michael Balfour as (what else) the hero's sidekick & a very young & gorgeous Honor Blackman also appear. 70 minutes well spent!

Because I am currently reading HAMMER FILMS: The Elstree Studios Years, I re-watched MOON ZERO TWO earlier today. This was prompted by the detailed description of the set-building which is given by Art Director Scott McGregor in the book. It was - on that level - amazing to see what he did in the most cost effective way for the company. The film itself is simply effective as a mod, kitsch piece these days and it can be very much enjoyed at...

A Child's Christmas in Wales (1987) is a very beautiful film.
It is a UK/US/Canada co-production, so I'm not sure if it fits what you are looking for, and it was made for television - but it is based on the great Dylan Thomas' work and was filmed entirely on location in Wales with a British cast led by Denholm Eliot.
It is a part of every Christmas with my family. It is a...

Absolutely, I've watched a Christmas movie or episode of a TV series every night from 1st December.
Last night I watched The Polar Express and I have a Men Behaving Badly christmas special lined up for this evening.
It's a great way to keep the Christmas spirit alive.

anyone seen ' Saints and Soldiers'? A terrific low budget war film almost destroyed by the bizarre accent of the RAF cad.

Don't know about "recent" but I mentioned Richard Attenborough and Steve McQueen in 'The Sand Pebbles' a few days ago, reuniting after 'The Great Escape'. I also liked seeing Julie Christie with Alan Bates, teaming up again in 'The Go-Between' a few years after 'Far From The Madding Crowd', and Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant together again in 'Indiscreet', more than 10 years after ...

They are from Movietone News...First put together for the start of ' Those magnificent men In Their Flying Machines'. As far as I know they are genuine clips (not that I was around at the time). I suppose it is easy (and cheap) to use this footage without having to find other material.
