So sad to hear of her passing. She was an excellent stage actress who should perhaps have had more film roles than she did. I have her on video in "The Story Of Gilbert and Sullivan", a Launder and Gilliat production, which was often broadcast at Christmas time years ago.

Kevin Spacey has publicly asked "when are they going to fire that overpaid, unfunny guy from presening the BAFTAS?" or words to that effect. Juliet Stevenson has publicly criticised the MMR vaccine which has apparently done damage to the medical profession and some others have criticised Madeleine McCann's family. Leaving aside whether one agrees with what's said, should actors use ...

There are loads that I like, for instance Laurence Olivier is one of them, De Niro, Pacino. But which actor do you like of all time?

I was listening to the radio the other night and something came up about Lewis Collins, I know on this site there is someone who is into the Professionals series! Yes the one with all those great Fords! In fact it was a good advertisment for the Capri, and the escort MK2 i think it was " Was it a Mexico" Anyway i was astounded at the fact that Lewis Collins actually passed selection ...

Michael Ripper and Percy Herbert are the two I admire most but there are SO many others. Of those still extant I aways enjoy watching Dudley Sutton. He does 'fruity' very well but has been excellent in whole slew of varied roles and even turned up as William Blake on a Peter Ackroyd TV series last year.

I'm trying to find the identities of three actors who had small speaking parts in the 1969 film Doppelganger (now much better known under its American release title Journey to the Far Side of the Sun ) As I only seem able to past one picture into each posting, here's number one: Sorry about the poor quality, but he's only seen during a video conferencing scene. He...

I am looking for good autobiographies or biographies by stars or about stars that were well done. What I mean by well done is do they really reveal a lot of the filming process of the many movies they were in and thier relationships with thier costars and others on the set. For example Charlton Hestons first book that was his diaries were very revealing in what he thought of some actors ,but ...

Afternoon, luvvies! Since being a small kid I've always been specially fascinated by Sir John Mills. Is it just some elusive 'star quality' that made him so watchable? I really can't quite work it out. Not too keen on the war films; Mr Denning, Hobson's and The Long Memory are my favourites! :- ) Johnny

Admirers in North East England of the delectable Miss Agutter might like to know that she is appearing at The Sage, Gateshead on Tuesday, 21st November, with the Ambache Chamber Ensemble to perform works by Robert and Clara Schumann & Brahms. And I suppose Izzard and Laurie as well while we're at it. Glad for them personally that they are doing so well in Hollywood and bringing a little bit of quality British topside beef to the States, but if I was honest I'd much rather they were all doing equally well at Shepperton or Pinewood making good old-fashioned British films! A great shame that our current top comedians see ...
