I get mine in either Makro or online from Don Quijote Ltd. Makro a 3kg chunk is £23.00 and Don Quijote a whole white hoof is £97.00 and a black hoof is £159.00. There is no restriction on food coming from the EU into the UK so long as it is for your own consumption

The CDS is only one part of the Spanish economy. Believe it or not, tourist numbers to Madrid rose by 10% in October 2009, compared to the previous year. http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/5727...urismo/madrid/ As Germany (Spain's biggest export market) and France pull out of recession, then Spain may reap some of the benefit. Not all their tourists will go shopping in London (although it will feel like it). It's interesting to see if...

I think I heard on Canal sur that there was a large increase in new car sales in Málaga province. Why I think Spain will be stuck in recession is that things were going down long before the credit crunch, at least on the CDS. They really have killed the golden goose and it's not just my opinion as can be seen from spanish forums.

Is 'vado' the same as 'dropped curb' or ' cross over' in UK parlance. Certainly in UK to get a cross over done will cost maybe £1,500. Surrey Council say:
We do not allow you to drive over a pavement or verge unless a vehicle crossover has been authorised and put in. This is because you may damage the pavement or any pipes or cables that are buried underneath it. The crossover allows you to...

I imported a car from Holland to Uk and it was quite straight forward. Easier than importing into spain as the vehicle was less than 3 years old there was no requirement for an MOT or any other checks. Just swop the headlights etc and pay the tax to customs and excise. The amount I paid was based on the market value of the vehicle at the time it was imported.
However that was a few years ...

I think if you did not live through this, or your family did, then it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to understand.
But a few years ago it was publicised that the UK government is planning a state funeral for Margaret Thatcher. Many a Guardian reader was disappointed when they saw the headline "State Funeral for Thatcher" that it was only at the planning stage!

I assume you have never worked in Spain or you would already be on the system.
If you are UK pensioners then you can apply for form E121 from the International Pension Centre in Newcastle and then you will be able to get on the Spanish system.

I dont know how to work it all out either, but I have a lot of driving to do everyday - mainly the school runs . The one thing I do notice is that when my OH is over and he drives we use infinately more petrol! I think its a man thing, he likes to drive faster, slam the brakes on harder and stay in the higher gears for longer! I've also noticed that the price of pertol/diesel changes much more ...
