PowerSDHC? - Page 2
Published (2009-12-11 16:28:00)
Thanks, I'll give that a try! And I'll probably have to open up the new one after all, and try my hand at a little soldering. When I plug in the headphones, I only get sound from the left side. Found a webpage with some pics, but it's talking about 6 soldering points for the jack, and I can only see 5 in the pic. I guess I'll find out more when I do open it up, but first I have to shop for a soldering iron. And find some...

Problems syncing to Outlook
Published (2009-12-13 22:21:00)
Chappura makes conduts for Palm to Outlook. You shouldn't need them for the TX, they were required before Palm developed their own conduits, though they certainly are more functional, but I never had trouble with the TX Outlook conduits. What may be happening here is that you may have data corruption. I don't remember how to deal with this with Outlook. Hopefully someone wil com along who has done this more recently than I.

Problems syncing to Outlook
Published (2009-12-13 22:29:00)
Please ignore the first message....sort of. What I reported was the problem i was having trying to sync to "Evolution" using the Ubuntu Linux OS. If anyone is familiar with syncing in Ubuntu, I'd love to hear from you. On the other hand, I am getting an error message trying to sync to Outlook in Windows. More on that later. Jim

also, one can run an application without tapping its' icon on the screen. navigate to the page it is on in your launcher via the D-pad (up/down to scroll, left-right to go from one category or tab to the previous/next). when on the right page, press the center button, to shift focus to the launcher area. again, use the D-pad to nav to the app, when it is selected (as indicated by either being highlighted, or in a box), press the center...

Looping white screen of death
Published (2009-12-06 18:17:00)
Upon further testing I've discovered that once the battery runs dry due to the white screen loop theres no way to get it to boot up even after plugging it into the charger, the battery has to be shorted again. I guess there's no way to fix it other than replacing the entire motherboard, though its weird how the Palm logo + progress bar still appears and all. Is there anyway to reflash the firmware onto the motherboard or something?

Some of the suggested apps, such as Shortcut5, can have a negative impact on performance. It would be a tradeoff that might be worth it to you, but you should be aware of it. You can use Palminternals to check any impact on Hede.

Bill, the best place to find Palm Desktop would be at Palm.com... Go to their support pages. Find the page for the TX. Palm Desktop is clearly displayed for download. WyreNut

It's been a while since I went through problems syncing with Outlook, so I don't remember the details. My solution was to purchase Chapura PocketmirrorPro - and I've had no problems since then - the last 6 years or so.

From what I've been reading, you might want to try running a folded over piece of paper around the edges of the screen, to see if anything has gotten trapped under the edge of the screen.
Sometimes that causes problems similar to yours.

No need to uninstall and reinstall - the "trial" is the actual, full program. Once you purchase you must login to Dmitry's site and type in your paypal email address so the site can verify the purchase. Then you can generate a key file (Dmitry's website generates it), using the ID number displayed by powerSDHC when you launch it. Then download and hotsync this key file to your TX, and the program...

Hey, there. Welcome to Brighthand.
I'm one of the people whose taken on Win7 with a TX also. Problem is that it's so new, not many people have done it yet to be able to provide you answers. I'll be setting mine up soon, so I'll try to keep people posted.
In the mean time, you might try the Search tool. I know there have been a few threads around here discussing this already.

Have you performed an In-Cradle Soft Reset? It will recalibrate your battery circuits and may improve performance. I do this every few months as maintenance. (The name is a carry-over from the cradle days.)
Plug TX into power source (wall, not USB), poke Reset hole in back of device and leave untouched for at least 3 hours (I wait 4). Allow device to power OFF per settings and don't ...

If you actually did 3 or 4, I have no idea. By the way, it probably won't help, but the first three application buttons are not used for a hard reset. Just rset and hold down the power button.
