Very nice. I thought it wasn't going to work well because where I aimed to search had a very short subforum name (one that would bring up sigs and posts from all over), but once I added in the parent forums and ">"'s in the exact phrasing I was able to narrow it down. Thanks

Well, let us know how you get on with either approach. I just don't have the time right now to play around with it much. The next couple of weeks will likely get busier than ever for me, between holiday schedules at work, end-of-year coming up, etc etc etc. Maybe once the long, boring winter sets in after the first of the year I'll be able to play with some more stuff like this. Until then I'll just try to keep up and see what...

this is what Google said I searched for: button with no assignment "HTC Touch Pro Fuze & Touch Pro2" site:brighthand.com but, as I said, I filled in the specified boxes as, uh, specified what I left out, as you pointed out, was to perform the search on the 'web' as opposed to Images Videos Maps News Shopping Gmail but, yeah, you got it jig!

Same problem here. I had suggestions from support but will use my other GPS units 'til I get a Droid next year. I had purchased some other software ( in addition to Google Maps) and that did not work with the Touch Pro either. I get the feeling that this unit is "too old to bother with". Software upgrades anyone?

JR, Have you tried the "Rhodium Keyboard" from XDA yet? It worked ok for me on my Tilt2, but did mess up the AT&T keyboard layout a little so I uninstalled it.

Best Cover for TP2
Published (2009-12-21 22:07:00)
Just ordered my T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 and am looking for the best rubberized, gel, plastic, whatever cover to protect it. Looks like it's a tad difficult to fit. Thanks for the help. -Azzystar

Yes, barring some asteroid taking out the delivery truck before it arrives, I am now a proud and eager Windows Mobile convert.
I've been watching the TP2 since last year, I watched rumor after rumor, drooled over early product shots, and was extremely jealous as the first units rolled out this summer. I've been waiting for black friday hoping to get the same bing cashback deal ...

I think I'm going to give Standard Tech Support Answer #2: do a factory reset of the device, and then re-install your software. I don't see how this could have damaged the hardware, but it could have messed something up in the OS, and the quickest way to fix that is dump the OS and replace it with a fresh copy... hence the factory reset.

No issue with my unlocked / unbranded version - The display dims and relights as expected, and comes back to the phone screen as I left it.
Have you installed any software recently, or done any updates?

Bumping this up, since I see that HTC's UK site now also has the WM 6.5 ROM Update posted for the TP2 International version (T7373.)
I know I shouldn't ass-u-me, but would these be the updates to install on Touchie?

Just a thought: Has anybody put together some sort of chart comparing features / capabilities that are added / deleted / disabled for each of the carrier variants, including hardware and software? I'd have a passing, casual interest in such a thing, including the unlocked version...
Might take as much time as an actual device review, though...

Hmm...
Nite-ize makes excellent cases that are pretty tough, though I don't know if they have zippers.
And if you REALLY want to spoil touchie, there's always a vaja case. Flap covers, not zippers, but they're pretty tough nonetheless.
