An exprienced firearms
engraver may. Otherwise, the factory would be the only place I can think of. I doubt they'd do it, since Series 70 guns haven't been availble since around 1982.

QUOTE (Jody Waring @ Aug 8 2009, 10:39 AM) I am just venturing into the 1911 world with most of my shooting ever done with Tanfoglio's and CZ's. My single stack .45 will drop the slide when I seat a
loaded magazine. No matter how hard I seat an empty magazine, it won't drop the slide. So I am assuming the bullet may be touching the "stud" portion of the slidestop that protrudes into...

Can you list the other things you have tried to fix your issues. With the combined knowledge here someone might be able to suggest something you haven't tried before you start polishing your chamber. I'm not an expert, but I believe most chambers have a taper to them and a
reamer is used to cut them to a finished dimension. I don't think polishing the chamber without removing any ...

There is no
good answer to this as it depends on how far the barrel locks up, trigger jerk, etc. Try a .165 & go from there.

I've never worried about it but I would venture progressively finer grits of
sand paper like 600-800-1200-1500-2000 would restore some of the sheen?

If you put the inside measuring parts of your caliper into the
bushing hole you'll be fine. I rotate mine around with a little pressure on the thumbwheel just to be sure I'm getting the largest point (I'd rather fit a tight one than be stuck with a loose one).......

You're probably "bite ceasing". Back the reamer out and start over. This time real gently, when you feel it start to make contact start turning it. If the reamer goes in a touch deep and it's new, meaning nice and sharp, it will bite in and kind of "stick itself".

QUOTE (Classic_jon @ Sep 8 2009, 09:32 AM) Hello, I have a
Springfield XD .40 Service and one of my mag's (#6 to be exact) is "crunchy" feeling after the 7th round. I have taken the mag apart, Wiped the spring off, wiped out the mag itself with a rag very well, run a brush in it with some solvent, wiped it out again, lightly oiled it, repeated said process a couple of times and it...
