( Ivorymom- I actually have already joined a Dec. 2009 RADS support group. I expect I will be getting started in the next 2 wks since I am seeing the RAD onc on this Weds. It seems that there is a lot to getting RADs started like CT and simulation, etc. Then actually starting the RADS itself. Pam - LOL! I'm not that young and unfortunately with wt gains and losses over the years I do have...

( Good evening ladies: I have had such a busy weekend. Big Thanksgiving dinner at my house with about 25 people. We had way too much food, but we always do and they wouldn't let me do much. I cooked the turkey, ham and sweet potatoes. We had a great time, it is always fun to visit with family. It was about half and half, half my family and half my DH's...

( Renee, I NEVER go without a bra. I wear a 36DD so really need one. I wore bras most of the way through radiation but towards the end I had to stop. When one is heavy breasted the skin gets more raw where it touches, like underneath when the heavy breast lays against the rib skin. At first I rolled up a soft thin sock and tucked under my breast to protect it from the bra elastic band. That...

( Michele... I love your pic.. I need to get me a wig like that ~ I think it would be good to wear to chemo treatment. :\) And I love horses. I have went on trail rides a few times on vacations. I am far from a rider ~ but when this is all over and done it is on my bucket list !!! Alicia :\) , )

( MiMi, We are in the same boat financially. Our local hospital where the majority of my expenses have been incurred, is allowing us to make our deductible as payments instead of having to come up with it all at once. That is great, especially since January \(and a new deductible\) is just around the corner! , )

( Lisa---I will take an AI called arimedex, I think. I think it has shown better results compared to tamoxifen and has been better with bone density issues as well. I am taking taxmoxifen because I am perimenopause and I need to clearly be in the menopause mode before I take the AI-aromatase inhibitor. You look to be right about on the same schedule as I was- only a year later. My thoughts are with you. ...

Hi Pam & Jenn -- I was just diagnosed on Tuesday. Since May I've had mammo \(calcifications\), stereotactic needle biopsy \(LCIS\), MRI and then lumpectomy -- to see if anything else was lurking with the LCIS. Glad they did it ... my report says 5cm mixed PLCIS and DCIS and 4mm IDC. I go see my surgeon on Monday. None of this but LCIS showed up on MRI, as I'm very dense and hard to read on ...

Alex, I finished taxotere/cytoxin in mid-April and still have pelvic and/or knee pain many days.I am also getting aching in neck and head that feels like I have a fever, yet my temerature is normal. The over the counter pain meds don't help. I get relief only when I take vicodin or percocet. ,

I was both on chemo and Herceptin but not the injection. Had it for 52 weeks. They did the Muga test which they check your heart they have to be careful. I also didn't have any problems and no side effects. Just had to go to the hospital once a week for infusion. You do not loose your hair either. I hope everything works out for you. Herceptin is like a maintenance drug doesn't make you ...

Iknow this is stressing, But keep strong. I had a large mass 5X7 on mammo and when I had my mast. All was neg except IDC 1.3.. Your aches and pain can be from stress and worry, It is normal to worry about all these aches. I still have alot of body aches, but I have learned to put hem in their place. . Have your surgery and deal with staging after the fact. Regardless of staging scan, surgery ...

Hi Jess, I was treated for multi-focal IDC. After a lumpectomy revealed involved margins, and my sentinel node was positive, given it was multifocal \(higher risk of at least more in that quadrant, who knows about the others\) a mastectomy was advised which I underwent with axillary dissection. Then I went on to have chemotherapy \(AC then Taxotere\). I also elected to have radiation \(...
