( Harley, My understanding is any soap, unwrapped and under the covers at the bottom of the bed, unless you have headaches like Susie and then you can try under the pillow \(just joking, just joking - and hope the headaches are WAY better Susie\). I am envious of all the turkey talk. Our Thanksgiving was so long ago I can hardly remember what that dark meat and cranberry sauce tasted like. Bring on Christmas Dinner \(pot luck at my...

( I had horrible cramps in my right thigh a few nights ago. Was ready to amputate it myself. Finally was able to stretch it out after trying for about 20 minutes. Need to start mixing the cherry juice in the tonic water to see if that helps. Get cramps in legs probably once a week, always at night. , )

( Patoo, The whole thing is very confusing. Some dr. somewhere should be able to figure this out! I'm thinking your breast surgeon would know. Me being me --- I would keep on until I got some answers, and if an ultrasound would put your mind to ease --- have one. They are messy - but don't hurt. It would for sure let you know if there is a clip in there! THERE IS ONE MORE POSSIBILITY ---------- You were abducted by Aliens...

( Helo Welga, actually my family doctor ordered a lumbar spine, coccyx and left hip mri \(without contrast\) as she taught i had sciatica and the result turns out normal. Then I saw my rad oncologist and mention to him about my pain and order a bone scan to rule out mets. bone scan result came back normal also. Then I saw my medical oncologist and mentionned to her also, she checked it out and right now she...

I am post Tamoxifen and had numerous visits, biopsies, etc to the gyno the last year I took it and afterwards. Because Tamo can cause your endometrium to expand and mine did, I had 3 different biopsies - 2 in the office and the 3rd in the hospital over a course of 2-3 yrs. Because I moved (and fired 2 oncologists), I know it is a blessing if you find one that really admits to all the side effects from Tamoxifen. I did find...

( Mine was found w/mammo, early stage no nodes. I was told to begin with just rads but after surgery told chemo. I fought the whole way but told it was "precaution". My mom died 23 years ago from BC. I went through chemo and rads and now on arimidex. If it helps and saves me I'll do it. SE's and all. My face also got real greasey and had bumps on it. That soon passed. I changed facial creams and washed my...

FEMARA

( RHP I'll up on the quantities to see if it works better. Like you I like prunes \(in fact I like pretty much everthing sweet...\) so there is no problem luckily for me taking them. I also buy the cheap ones from the grocerie store but they are not that cheap anyway. I might buy 10$ a week supply, of course it's cheap if it saves my bones and helps with the ache. Thanks a million Welga , )

How dare your doctor get upset with you... I would be changing docs! I have noticed a change in my vision with tamoxifen also.... as have many other women. The docs don't think it is caused by the tamox because there haven't been any studies done for that YET. They used to say it didn't cause muscle aches either until enough women complained of it and they finally did a study.... Wish...

Sure it is, roxy. The half-life of Arimidex is around 2 days, so once you've been on it for awhile, the blood levels are really stable. From what I've read, it doesn't make any difference \(pharmacologically\) what time of day you take it. Maybe I should try mornings, too. I'm taking mine at bedtime, and I have noticed that I'm not sleeping as soundly as before. otter ,

Hi Basha - I just started last week. So far, so good. I can't say I have experienced any side effects. My onc told me that many women swear it causes weight GAIN so now is the time to be vigilant about diet and exercise. I just keep staring at the pharmacy sheet where it says " hair thinning". I had chemo and seriously want my hair back. Now I'm worried that this will slow or stop ...

Tinkermom, this is my biggest fear in taking the tamoxifen, because even though I no longer am going to have any more kids, and I was also ER/PR+, I do not ever want to have to lose my uterus or ovaries, I'm kind of attached to them for many reasons, and do think I would notice a big difference if they were gone. So I hate to see someone else have to go through this. If you plan on ...

nanna, I would say that it varies (like everything else) from one of us to the next. At first, I had NO side effects for MONTHS and thought it was going to be an easy ride. Well, my ride has been a roller coaster ride with the SEs varying to degrees and coming and going. Right at the moment, the hair loss has stopped, the hot flashes aren't bad, the aches are somewhat tolerable and LORD ...

nopink ~ I developed a really bad trigger finger \(locking thumb\) while on TC, and attributed it to the Taxotere. I had also gone off HRT when I was dx'd, so I felt that the sudden decrease in estrogen may have also been involved. I'm not on an A/I \(using a natural estrogen modulator instead after a horrible experience w/Femara\), and I no longer have a trigger finger, although the ...

Just remember that surgery is a shock to the body, which is irreversible. With the lupron, you could at least get a taste of what is to come should you later decide to have the surgery. And there are natural ways of reducing your risk, should you decide that you can't live like this. Check out the Natural Girls thread on the Alternative forum. ,

I also am undecided about taking Tamoxifen. I have tried it twice and both times I get so depressed, have night sweats and can't sleep and become very irritable. I felt the same way as you about the small percentage it offers. You find yourself asking " how much is quality of life worth"? Try to do as much research on your own as you can. The wonderful ladies on this board will help ...

Hello Mkay - It's horrible how we always have so many life altering decisions. Yesterday, my ONC took me off of Arimidex and gave me a script for Aromasin because of my severe joint pain. Before Arimidex, I took Tamoxifen and I couldn't stand that -- but I suffered more on Arimidex than Tamoxifen. In fact, I cursed, cried and sulked every day while taking them and each time I saw my...

Hi Welga, have you took a break from femara to see if it was femara that was causing your pain or your oncologist said it was femara side effects. My oncologist does not think it is femara causing this, however I seen on another thread that a few ladies have the same symptoms, so may be it is femara. Sig ,
