( Regardless, even if it is passed, it won't take effect for years. And who said I will be uninsured in a few months? I certainly won't be uninsured...We'll just have a new ins. policy at that time whether on our own or through a new employer. Oh and btw...I like my friends and family alive too! lol , )

( Looks like you folks have been busy while I was at work today. But I still haven't heard any ideas on how the for profit supporters would change the system to make it more efficient and less expensive. Certainly, Medicare and Medicaid have been under-financed, which is obviously a problem. But they're still much more efficient than private insurance. I've also heard the fraud arguments but can't seem to find any...

The sad facts are that the size of the lesion matters little because breast cancer kills through metastasis, not through breast lesions, and we do not know how to stop metastasis. It appears that many breast cancers disappear on their own - our immune system destroys them without treatment, so the better outcomes for the smallest lesions are very likely the ones that our bodies can successfully ward off without intervention, and perhaps the...

( The report may have been published by a source of which you disapprove, but the survey on which the article is based was conducted by the http://physiciansfoundation.org/ which doesn't seem to have a political agenda. I tried to get an article from a more liberal source to get their take on the poll's findings, but even though I can find 5 pages listing various articles about this poll from mid-September, there...

I want to see healthcare reform. I haven't seen a serious effort by either side. Neither of the bills in Congress will reform our system for the better. They are both just part of an agenda to push us into government run healthcare. The vast majority of Americans do not want government run healthcare. Yes, it will lessen the quality of our care as well as stifle the innovation and research ...

Joe: Well, technically Tamoxifen induces hot flashes - and your menses might cease temporarily, but with everything I have read, they will resume [at your age] once you stop taking the drug. Here is an article on our own bc.org to read: http://www.breastcancer.org/tips/fert_preg_adopt/f ertility/tamoxifen.jsp However, that said, I do note that you are PR negative. Studies have shown ...

Hi I think thats the trial I'm on. I took dose dense A/C with "maybe avastin"---every 2 weeks four times...now I'm taking Taxol weekly for 12 weeks and the "maybe avastin" every 3 weeks. I have 8 more taxols and 2 more avastins to go. I really think I'm getting the real stuff. I have nose bleeds and my voice is effected too. So where are you at in your treatments? I am SO in. I just started a smoking cessation class tonight and our quit date is January 27. There are only 3 gals and one is 3 years out from her treatment. It was nice to talk to someone else who still smokes in spite of what we've gone through. I'll take support from any and all sources. Great idea! Jill

I did six months of CMF..and you are right it is a long road...I had trouble with the white blood count and had to get the shots for that. Please remember to drink all the water they tell you to. I think I went thru a gallon a day while I was taking the cytoxan pills for the two weeks every cycle. I also felt more tired with each treatment. I can't speak to nausea specifically, but after my first chemo, I had such terrible bone pain from the Neulasta that I decided I would do whatever it took to make it go away. I decided to try acupuncture \(something I had never done before\). I went the day after each subsequent chemo after that and the bone pain diminished significantly. I was very happy with the results. After chemo ...

NatureGirl-Thanks for your thoughts. I leave immediately after my treatment and change the caps on the way home. They are somewhat cumbersome though. I will be getting Taxotere after my FEC treatment and the way my ball rolls I'd be in the 6% that suffer permanent hair loss from taxotere and I am hoping the cold caps will keep this poison away from my follicles,....lol. I hope your ...

Thank-you Melissa for your support in continuing/restarting this thread. I am very sad to see that some excellent information, especially from our sisters around the world, is lost. I have enjoyed this thread, I enjoy the feistiness of some of the ladies -- it is a good sign that we are involved and ...

In addition, if it's really bad a big bowl of broccoli a few days in a row really give added benefits. I will say it's gotten better taking the probiotics and stool softer daily - not great, just better. Good luck and I hear ya' - being constipated is the ...
