We already 'celebrated' Vincent's first night time wet dream, or what ever you call it. He was upset to start, thinking he'd slightly we the bed, it happened a few times then it dawned on me what it was. I told him that he was not peeing the bed like a baby as he feared but was becoming a man, then took him out for lots of food...getting to eat junk food to his hearts content would be the party in his book. It was great to...

Go get a tattoo, or piercing together! Heehee, just joking! The coffee thing sounds like a good idea. Is there something that you have forbidden (like make up?) because she's not old enough? This reminds me too- For girls, periods are kind of a marker event for passage into adulthood. I mean clearly, they are not instantly adults because of it, but its a real tangible marker. But, I always think that boys need to have something too, some...

I likely won't get another chance to pop back in for a couple days, so just wanted to wish everyone lots of smiles and much love for the holidays! I'll be thinking of you all!! We are going to my SILs tonight for our annual Christmas Eve party which includes a Yankee swap...always fun with loads of joke gifts. One in particular is this 80's denim jacket adorned with rock band patches that used to belong to my BIL when he was in...

Merry Christmas everyone! Tonight I made a semi-traditional Italian Christmas Eve fish dinner. Went to the 3:30 Children's Mass first, then ate, then went to look at the lights in the rich neighborhoods. Now I'm just waiting to make sure both kids are sleeping and I'll put the presents out. Gianna is getting, among other things that I can't remember, a doll, some Build-A-Bear outfits for her new bear, and since she just got...

Lauren, I dodged the "What are you laughing about?" question by saying that it was grown-up humor they wouldn't understand (good avoidance maneuver, learned from MY parents)! Seemed to work, as I got no further questions.

Okay, my brother said he may have an extra monitor if I don't mind a non-flat screen. I did respond that that's fine. Is that okay, since it's an extra monitor that's not in use anymore? Or will your "face palm" image be posted if I bring another crt in, even if I'm not buying a new one?

I would first check the monitor pluged into a different outlet (to make sure everything is getting enough power), and make sure where the monitor is connected to the computer, that the connection is good.
But I hate to break the bad news to you, but most likely, it is a major problem with your computer or the monitor, it could be the monitor or the computers motherboard/graphics, graphics ...

Well, I totally understand the fake smile issue, as everyone in our house does it when receiving something they don't like. However, having been on the giving ( and receiving) end of this situation, I'd recommend the following response: "That was really thoughtful of you, thanks."
WARNING - Practice this in front of the mirror so you don't have the fake smile while saying it. Listen ...

Lauren, you would be driving there with your mom & dad, is that right?
-- Leave some things in the car to keep you busy or distract you. If you need to get away, go to the car. This will NOT seem odd, if you do it inconspicuously...many people need a 'moment' here and there at a service like this.
Is the service at a funeral home or a church?

Have you seen a draft of the IEP yet? This seems so fast, and aren't you guys on Christmas vacation right now?
I think they should try resource-pull out before they go to special class.(is that what you mean by CTT?) LRE, right? Have they identified what exactly is impeding her progress? What accommodations have they implemented so far?
Ick, so hard going into these things w/ an ...
