Buying a LCD TV........need advice

I was just watching a game on a small LCD screen on a plane's headrest, and the blur was noticeable even at that small scale. Do LCD TVs have that issue licked, or do I have to look to plasma/DLP? Any recommendations from sports fans? You have to get a high end LCD TV...

Cars selling on Craigslist for...

Total scams. If they really needed to sell this minute, the guy with the 2006 Highlander could take it to a local dealer and get paid well over $5,000 just to get rid of it, not to trade or anything. Beware of any seller who doesn't have the car right there with them in your local area, sellers who have some elaborate story, etc.

Tiny but mighty , at $199.99 If you already have a monitor and speakers and a cable internet connection, you're good to go. The keyboard doesn't have the numeric keypad, otherwise nearly normal size; but it does not sound like you need one. The CPU weighs 9 pounds, which is about 2 pounds less than most laptops. Your printer does not need to be wireless if you have only 1 computer that won't be moved. Laptop construction...

Thank you for all responses and recommendations. It's that time of the year, and Posit reduced their prices by 25% (and added free shipping). I was tempted again to stimulate the economy and my brain with a single click, but a visit to this thread saved me a few hundred dollars. Cheers, Victoria

Moody and Standard and Poors bond rating systems don't seem to be reliable. In "Dubai Bond Rating" ( http://www.bogleheads.org/foru....1259478234 ) there is discussion on how to evaluate bonds... ddb: "My advice is to stick with the collective wisdom of the market and consider the bond's yield to be the rating." Digital Picture Frames?

I thought that was an excellent book.l I shouldn't be ironic online. It was a great...

I recently became interested in the brain research and particularly in lifestyle and exercises that enhance cognitive function. As frequently happens, one thing led to another.
I watched on Youtube a lecture by Michael M. Merzenich, Ph.D., University of California at San Francisco, to an audience of Google employees available here . Dr. Merzenich described the software provided by his ...

Where were you when the space shuttle Challenger exploded?
I was a junior in high school, in the cafeteria for lunch. The school showed the launch on the cafeteria TVs...
We were watching it live when it happened. The entire lunchroom gave out a huge gasp, and then we were utterly silent in disbelief.

I was on the treadmill today (11/25 at 11:30 am) when it abruptly slowed down. I have run it at 2.9 mph for over a year and found that now it won't run at 2.9 for more than a minute or 2 before it drops to 1.8 to 2.4 mph. So I increased the speed to 3.2 mph and it ran fine for the next 30 minutes! If it's dying I'd think any speed would have a problem. The hand writing is on the wall, I've ...

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "best way".
Best for cost?
Best for energy usage?
Best for getting things clean?
Best for all the above?
When it comes to soap I would think the cheapest stuff that works
would be best since you don't have control once the process starts.
(obviously if something cleans very well you could put less in)
The real question ...

I have a 10 year old Volvo S70 AWD with a mere 58000 miles. I noticed that the sticker on the door says that next May the airbags will expire. I seem to recall that earlier Airbag cars had a 10 year life expectancy for the bags, but this was later debunked and it's now generally safe to assume the airbags will last for the life of the vehicle.
Or did I NOT remember that correctly?

I just got a new computer with Windows 7, and spent about 15 minutes trying to find Outlook Express before realizing it no longer exists. So I downloaded something called "Microsoft Live Mail." Unfortunately it's sort of annoying. Sometimes I'll delete a new message and then an hour later I'll receive it again. Or I'll delete something, then the next day log onto my ISP's webmail, and it's a ...

Better is the enemy of good enough!
A single stage will work fine, mine does in an area with more frequent snow than you report.
If you want long term reliability and durability, look at what Honda offers in a single stage as well.
If this is your first snowblower, read up on operator injuries from reaching into the chute to clear blocked snow while the engine is running....

Today.
I went to Frys to pick up a major brand 16 GB usb memory stick for less than the el cheapo ones.
Since this was a lower priced "hot" item I figured it would actually be in stock when I got their around 9.15 am. I was right.

I didn't participate in the survey, but now in my mid-40's after retiring at age 41, I am as active as I have been at any point in my whole life with a perfect BMI and a fast 5k.

No clue about Citizen specifically, but in urban areas folding bikes are reasonably common and seem to be well-loved. Dahon seems to be the name brand in the folding bike space.

For a stay at home computer get a desktop. I tried the laptop only for a while and was not satisfied. You can get a desktop with very large display, I am using a 22 inch monitor now. It is much easier to view. Laptop screens also don't sit as high on the desk so unless you prop them up you are always gazing downward.
The desktop comes with wireless so you only will need one cord to ...
