The thing that makes me angry/yet laugh out lol, is that even if prostitution was legal they could and would charge more for their sessions than we could. It's amazing to think you can know all the anatomy of the body and only charge $85 an hour, while a "sensual masseuse" who only knows 1 piece of anatomy can charge hundreds. Sigh. Thanks society! And I can totally relate with the "asian" modalities,...

Based on the ads for our area, there are no longer any therapeutic services advertising in that section of Craigslist. Instead of stopping the prostitutes, they drove out all the legitimate businesses. The sad thing is, they could adopt a "wiki-" business model and have a horde of unpaid volunteers policing the therapeutic section on a daily basis. That would end the need to charge for posting to that section, and encourage...

Glad to hear your local PD has been alerted & are taking this seriously! Hopefully he's finally gotten the message & will just go away.

I meant I found the nerve of him trying to schedule with her amusing (her title "You fired me and now you want what????). I didn't mean anything amusing in regards to the stalking and going through her personal messages of course. That behavior is not acceptable at all. If it makes you feel better I got what you meant....

Same here in my town though most are not completely obvious on their intent. This whole erotic thing makes it VERY hard for me to advertise my training in various asian modalities because just say asian and men assume I am really a prostitute. Seriously I think we should work to legalize prostitution in order to clear confusion. lol

It's also a very good example of just one of many reasons why the therapist is not supposed to focus on him or herself during the session. Had your mom's therapist left her own issues at home, she would likely not have done that. At the very least, it is more honest to call and postpone or even cancel a session if the therapist is so emotionally or physically "off" that they wouldn't be giving their all....

I wanted to share a story about my mom's recent experience with a massage because it contains various points that are important to any successful practice. First, let me give a little background history- my family is not a touchy family, how I got that way is way off topic here. So, my mom gave the cursory hug every night but it was short and to the point. Other than that, there wasn't much touch or physical closeness. Since becoming...

None of the spas I've worked at do paperwork... I let go of it in order to keep the jobs... but it irked me too, but motivated me on toward full time private practice.

If you're not comfortable working with him, then by no means do you have to take him back as a client. You could choose to ignore him, which would probably just leave a gray area where maybe he doesn't get it, and maybe he continues to contact you... not much closure there. You could opt to tell him your schedule is full and you're not taking new clients, or you could outright tell him that due ...

That sucks. Either she will pay or not. I don't see what we can do other then send a bill. Collections would be to expensive.
It might help to get in good with an attorney. A scary letter from an attorney might get her to pay.
Will you send a bill in 30 days if she doesn't pay? Adding a late fee?

I don't know enough about facebook to know if this is a viable solution, but could you have a page (or whatever they call it on facebook ) for clients/massage related and your regular page, then just direct her and any others to the massage ID?
I am *sort of* on facebook because that was the only place I could find an old friend, but my identity is set to private. I am unsearchable ...
