you wont find too much because its still surprisingly 'taboo' for swimmers to lift. right up with there with distance runners. anyways at that age his lifting can be very generalized and as long as all lifts involve full ROM, stay to the higher rep ranges and like mentioned put an emphasis on core, shoulder, stability, and flexibility he will be fine. later on when he finds his primary stroke then the workouts can shift towards that...

Another thing off the top of my head Arlecchino, is that the term Strength Coach, gives false implications of what should be expected of this coach (In the realm of team sport athletic deveopment that is. If one is specifically training powerlifters, bodybuilders, or weightlifters, then the term Strength Coach is acceptable). Strength Coach leaves out a multitude of abilities that should be concurrently or sequentially developed with Strength...

Get on a routine that will better your athletic performance and not just get you ripped. A bodybuilding routine WILL NOT help make you a better athlete.

Personally I include it just because I feel it's a good way to either start or end the day depending on how I'm feeling. If I'm feeling good I definitely love it but I guess that's just the adrenaline pumping me up.

what i did was pretty much get rid of all fats in my diet except for 3 oz of cashews and a tbsp of olive oil. rest should be mostly dominated by carbs so you dont feel the calorie defict as much and the "perfect" amount of protein. 2g/lb is fine

Simpilist answer is start running. It would be helpful to see your workout posted here. Its hard to give advice from thin air. I think your right in track you would be in one of ther throwing events and that would'nt help you.

On day 5 I think it would be a good idea to switch front squats with a unilateral lift (step ups, split squat, etc). Maybe add some shoulder prehab work too.

explosive excerciser will make you faster. Squats, leg extensions, etc will make you slower. I was told when I played soccer that a lot fo muscle mass int he legs will slow you down. I also was told the the stronger your shoulders the faster you can get, dont know hwo true that is tho.
Any how if you are planning on playing for college you will need some upper body strength, plus...

Good post Arlecchino, I'm glad I have been exposed to as much information via the internet, books, journals, seminars, etc. at my age and level of higher education.
There is no doubt that this will give me an edge in the field not only in the present but into the future.
