I have gay friends and have nothing against those who are, but if you want the idiots to stay away why even mention it or say "strong, thick, quads." How about "I want to get my legs bigger and stronger."
additionally, you need to do a search, talk about a topic that has been covered ad nausiem. If you do a search you'll find plenty of information on squats. your question is ridiculously ...

i do upright rows, behind the neck preses, military presses, dips, side laterals, and front raises, all without any shoulder pain.
but i have terrible mobility and that stretch really hurts, and i have noticed that i have been getting some shoulder clicking when i do certain things, so really this thread is for prehab.

he got disqualified because he took a step backwards. that year the ipf decided to enforce a rule that if you step backwards after you finish your squat, even after you get the rack command, you squat is disqualified. the year after, the ipf got rid of that rule. next year, they'll probably enforce it again.
it's like lifting your head on the benchpress in the ipf. one year you can, the next ...
