Clean Pull & Back Squat -...

Very strong lifts, the clean pulls looked easy but I'm not sure you had enough extension. Seems like there could have been more speed at the top but then again I don't really do clean pulls and I am not great at them so I don't know. The back squats looked sharp, sucks you didn't get the reps you wanted but that happens. Still strong regardless. Good form. What are all you lift maxes now?

I agree, form looks pretty sharp, especially for lifting in regular shoes, not Oly shoes. Great job!!

I think the heel compressibility is a bigger factor than the heel lift, to be honest. I started using Vibram 5 Finger shoes for running and recently tried them with my o-lifting. There's no heel lift whatsoever, but the sole is only a couple mm of rubber thick so there's no compressibility. I found doing cleans in them no problem whatsoever. That is quite a goal. But ok. My max is 75 kg, and it's pissing me off. I would like to get it to 90 kg. I try to accomplish this by training my triceps harder. My shoulders are strong enough. I will also try to update this.

I did split snatches up until about 2 months ago. Same issue, flexibility. I haven't seen many articles or vids. A couple of youtube vids if you search. In some of my books, they say basically what we already know: you need less flexibility, and you cant get quite as low in the squat under, as with squat snatches. I've also found that you almost have to cut your second pull short and get on ...
