lol...it still feels strange telling people to eat more fat. One suggestion i have for you is adding some olive oil to your salads. that will up your fat. Add coconut oil to your shakes, i've heard that's delicious. Add flax meal/oil to salads, shakes or anything you make. Now to add these fats you will need to lower your protein. Most ketoers don't even do 1g per pound of body weight. protein is usually based on 1lb per pound...

65+35+5=105 YAY MATH And yes, you should be able to achieve ketosis with those numbers just make sure you have 30g of carbs or less per day.

Incorporate these foods into every meal. Gonna be tough for you to do keto and rely on fast food restaurants for alot...

Ive never used ketostix, and I can tell when I am in keto with accuracy. Try not to rely on them and just feel it.

Sounds like a carb cycling diet....not really keto...
Edit: never mind. You'd still be doing keto. I'd carb up though.

Less than 30 to start. Once you're fully adjusted to keto you can adjust depending on how your body reacts.

If you are making progress, it's not hindering you. But refeeds are one way of jazzing things up a bit, and they are fun.
You can do a refeed as a carb-up, or as a keto refeed. On Christmas, I stick to keto food, but I eat a LOT of it. That's a keto refeed, and I find it a lot easier than a carb-up.

2,300kcal is a bit much for 170lbs?
I'm 170 6'3'' and I take in 1,700-1,900kcal.
Also for the macros I would do 65/35/5... take the kcal*(.65) for fat...etc...
Are you on TKD or CKD? Or a mixture of both?

If you are 80lbs over weight, 2000 calories a day is a lot. I would say around 1200 would be a better number especially because of the inactivity.

At this time you are over-eating bigtime.
You need no more than 2500cals a day and you count EVERYTHING. A month of this diet should have you a lot less than that if done properly. You could be just losing water weight and gaining fat.
Don't start with the excuses that you shouldn't could this or that or the other thing seeing it is you just trying to convince yourself to eat more....

Thats primarily what I use along with straight MCT oil. Best saturated fat you can use. MCT in coconut oil acts like a carb. You get immediate energy and it goes straight to your liver so producing ketones is much quicker.
It would be my number 1 pick for any straight oil to consume. Even above olive oil.

What you are talking about is TKD, which is a very popular approach with competitive athletes, who have to stay on top of their training at all times. It works very well, but if you want to build muscle, then you need CKD, where you deplete your muscles of all glycogen, then provide a flood at once, so it rebuilds the muscle bigger and stronger than before.
If you've never done keto ...
