Not pierced (significantly) yet....
Published (2009-12-19 06:03:00)
I saw another girl today with a nostril piercing. Multiple girls, actually. yay. I love my life. I'm waiting until I move out of my mom's house to have it done. I'm having it done with a clear retainer and I hope nobody notices it. I already have my speech planned for if I'm asked to take it out. "It doesn't affect my ability to do my job, additionally I was not calling attention to it. I attempted to conceal...

The balls on the barbell I had in with the initial piercing were really tight; I tried to change them but it would've taken a lot of force and I probably would've torn my piercing. I had to go to my piercer to take them off the first time so I could change it to a retainer. You might not have such a hard time though.

well exactly! does my stretched lobe prevent me from performing CPR? not in the slightest! nor does it hinder me in drug rounds, any sterile procedure nor does it mean my ability to communicate with patients is compromised! never mind tho eh! rules are rules x

Most people I know with them say it doesn't make much of a difference, though some men find the "stigma" of the tongue ring on a woman attractive. Keep in mind though, you can get koosh or vibrating attachments, and they do sometimes make a slight difference. For kissing, I never noticed a difference when kissing a man with a tongue ring... I did like playing with his lip ring while kissing though =P

You can get pierced any size between 0.8mm and 6mm. Once you get pierced you wont be able to stretch for about 6 months.

vertical tragus
Published (2009-12-18 15:14:00)
Then...obviously it wouldn't be a surface bar used. I did think you meant a proper vertical tragus, but was just a bit confused by that question. Usually a curved barbell would be used, and your tragus really needs to be large/prominent/thick enough to support the piercing otherwise it probably will reject. It's a deep cartilage piercing and will probably take a long time to heal - longer than a normal tragus piercing. For pain,...

Tell them about the supplier - can't they order it in for you? Visually, titanium is duller and more grey-ish than steel, but it's pretty hard to tell when you get into the top quality brands with the best polish.

1. Yes get them pierced with PTFE, It is kinder to your teeth and gums and is easier to clean that metal. 2. Yes, do go back after two weeks and get them changed - its important to downsize after the swelling has gone down so that you are wearing jewellery that is not going to irritate your piercing or your mouth! 3. Either get PTFE/Bioplast retainers put in or use a 3mm clear ball on the ...

I don't think it matters that you don't have piercings. It's the interest in body modification that counts . An open mind helps matters too lol.

By vertical tragus, do you mean a surface piercing on/next to your tragus, or a proper vertical tragus (ie. through cartilage)? That basically answers your second question. Surface piercings are done with surface barbells, actual vertical tragus piercings aren't. And if it's a deep cartilage piercing it'll take a long time to heal, and the surface piercing will have a pretty high rejection rate...
