Try putting the balls bacK on but put a tiny piece of blu tac on it, it grips the ball in the righ place and enabls you to turn it enough to thread it, then take the blu tac off and tighten it. But make sure it is fresh from the packet as it could be carrying god know what on it! My little tip for the day

i usually use a final fit bar thats around 4mm longer than the thickness of the tongue and ball size can make a big difference, i use 6mm as standard but changing the lower ball to 5mm can often ease any sensitivity, especially if it rests near the sublingual frenum. If the problem persists maybe a PTFE bar may help.

Blowouts aren't permanent. I'd definitely downsize though, and leave the jewellery in when you do the compresses - regularly removing the jewellery could be irritating. The tunnel you have at the moment looks quite long too, I'd find a smaller one for your downsize (also it shouldn't get in the way as much for compresses then!).

It's not that we are 'winning', fact is we're here because we love piercings, and believe in giving piercings the best possible start and chances. We aren't telling you this stuff to be nasty, things only get nasty when good advice is pretty much ignored. And immaturity and ignorance is extremely frustrating.

if you do make sure you go to a decent piercer, I think a microdermal would be better than the surface piercing

With any luck, the downsizing and some regular massaging will help... but be aware that you will probably have to massage daily for a few weeks before you see a long-lasting difference. I prefer to use Bio Oil, but many people on here swear by vitamin E.
Your other option is to have the blow out removed by scalpel.
Good luck.

If the jewellery is embedded then there is little hope of it settling down even with the use of antibiotics. How old are the piercings?

No!
Leave it totally alone. 3mm is fine.

Its only been 2 weeks, there is still going to be some pain. Leave the 18mm bar in. Ball size doesn't matter as long as its over 5mm. Don't put plastic/acrylic ends on the barbell yet. You should have all titanium for the next couple of weeks. Listerine contains alcohol, which is slowing down the healing, even if diluted. Not sure what ambesol is. Most importantly, stop messing with it and ...

Cartilage healing
I just got my ear cartiladges pierced on both sides and they hurt ALOT. I don't take out the ear rings and I clean them everyday. The left one bled like crap and when I twisted the stud it bled. Is it supposed to hurt this much? I also got my 2nd lobe piercing on both ears, they're doing fine. Just a little sting ...

Did you buy the products online? If you did post a link please
And as for bioflex benefiting your surface piercing, a titanium surface bar would be the best option really.

SSS will soothe it, and also take ibuprofen as this will minimize swelling.
And don't move the ring, this will irritate it even more. Try using cotton buds to clean underneath the ring, or if they're too big cotton balls saturated with the SSS solution, twist a bit of it round so its in a thin line. Hope that makes sense (:
Happy healing!

Oh forgot to mention that I have about 1mm rise on it now, I got a feeling that even though I've been careful with it that it's wanting to pop out already! Don't have any redness or soreness though!

Definitely leave them alone, no twisting, it upsets the healing fistula.
Stick to sss, the lotion is probably too harsh.

New Lip Piercing
I just got my lip pierced 6 days ago. I know a lot of people ask about the stud making an indent in there lip and that it's totally normal because of the swelling, but mine is also making an indent-type thing on the outside.
At some points I can run my finger over it (with clean hands!) and can't even really ...
