looks like every other BMW; I understand their 'need' to keep the dual kidneys grill on every model, but they all look the SAME! so many better looking cars out there. FWIW, I drove a friend's M6 the other night. perhaps my expectations were too high, but I thought $115K should have been more impressive.

A quick update: We took an ownership of a 2007 Audi A6 yesterday. It's a pretty sweet car - seems like a different species compared to other cars out there. I'm still trying to figure out how the car works. The owners manual is 395 pages long. The MMI (equivalent of the BMW iDrive system) manual is another 200 pages long. So far I think we know about 60% of the car's capabilities. Will probably post a couple of pictures soon.

What you want though is the 2006 MY 330i or 530i which got the 265HP 3.0L just before the 335i engine came out. since 2007, for the E92 (328i/335i coupes) it's actually 2 30 hp and 200 lbft torque (less than...

One little issue, it needs some tint on the back windows. Otherwise, top notch. That's the same color as my Silverado pickup. I had one of these for a rental on a two day trip. I liked it.

I like it, never cared for the lines of the previous generation. I agree that it appears they have toned down the lines, more like the current 3 series. That said, it's a tad out of my price range, but I could hit the powerball.

The toyos on my Mazda were quite good in snow, but I only had them for one winter with brand new thread, as I purchased winter set afterwards. However, the tire noise is simply terrible; it gets progressively worse as the thread wears down. I still have my original tires, I am too cheap to buy another set, as these tires still have at least one season left in them, but I just switched to my winter tires and the noise level is so much better,...

I don't have experience with the Volvo I5 turbocharged engine. But I like the Audi torsen-based quattro system MUCH better than the Volvo system. For similar or perhaps slightly less money, you might consider keeping an eye out for an '04 A6 with the tried and true normally aspirated 4.2L V8 (340hp). A buddy of mine uses one of these to commute from NJ to Syracuse twice a week. He gets 27mpg...

Yes, I did. I took a bus 300 miles to save about 2000 dollars and get the exact color/trim/powertrain we wanted on our Highlander. Of course, I'd stop by a local dealer first and see. But in my case, I took a Greyhound there, got picked up at the depot, drove home, and wasn't too worried as it was a Lexus dealerhship.

Interesting. I'd like to see a civilian version too. For most people, there is probably no reason at all to own a rear drive V8 sedan anymore, but I think they still have their place. None of the large FWDs really appeal to me at all. It's strange how a market for specialized police cars seems to have suddenly appeared. First there was the Carbon Motors car, then the Caprice, and now it ...

my biggest issue is that if youre going to keep the car beyond 100k, you do not know the history before you get it. Usually it is flexible interval service, and your first OCI may not have been until 10k+. Add on some of the uncertainties of engines like the N54, which is a great engine, really fun, but unproven for LONG duration, and I'd likely want to stick to something that I knew the ...

I had a black 2000 4x4 standard cab, standard trans, but it didn't have cruise. I never should have sold it, I loved that truck. I had 31-10.50 Bridgestone Duellers on it. There is a mod/fix you should consider as the 4x4 Tacoma and 4Runner steering rack bushings alomost always go bad. The kit is enexpensive and not too hard to install. I did it on my 99 4Runner. You also may want to consider ...
