As I said in the other thread, the Modular engines use bi-metal bearings. They have NO COPPER OR LEAD in them. So Blackstone is out in left-field here. Has this guy ever run leaded race gas? An injector cleaner with some lead in it? Any oil additives? Has the engine (or part of) been apart and a copper silcone sealer used?

Will re run the amsoil after I go the 5K on the Chevron I have in there now, then will run the amsoil for 6 months drain, and run the amsoil again and will decide then if I will go a year or just do 6 months and sample. I guess if I want to compare 1 year intervals I would have to do 1 year. But who knows if my driving conditions will be the same or not.

Going from a 5W-20 to a 5W-30 didn't seem to help copper much if any. It is trending down on its own I'd say. I doubt a thicker oil would help any. I'm sure it won't hurt to try either. I've been very happy with PP in my car. If it spec.'s 5W-20 why not try PP 5W-20 instead of the 5W-30 and see how it works?

I would stick with M1 or try Motorcraft 5w20. These numbers are nothing to be concerned with at all. There are quite a few guys on the Mustang forums that have over 150,000 miles on their 05 GT's (driven hard) using nothing but Mobil 1. I wouldn't put too much into this report. Run M1 again, and if it doesn't drop, switch to Motorcraft.

In the other thread, didn't OVERK1LL say something about Mustangs not having copper and lead in their bearings? Either way, those numbers are pretty small. They could just be a blip. If it were my car, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Contrary to what Blackstone would like you to think, the general consensus among the experts on this site seems to be that Blackstone UOAs are not good ...

Were you tested for coolant? Could be a leaking oil cooler, if you want to
eyeball it.

Lots of WOW's in that report....Wow, look at how much Zinc is in that oil....WOW, look at how much it sheared in only 4500 miles...WOW, look at all that copper..... I'd suspect by the relatively low lead number that this oil did okay, and the rest is damage from the methanol, and copper leaching from the turbo bearings/cooler lines...but i don't know enough to really say....

As a general statement, adding M1 15W-50 to an oil fill 'always' seems to lower wear values. That's what I've observed. Why are so many elements missing from these analyses?

That OEM fill had a very high viscosity index. Off Topic: What does Staveley charge?

This oil should be good for 10,000 miles. TBN is still good but as Bl St
said silicon seems high.

I'm not sure that driving these newer cars for short distances should be considered severe service anymore, what with how totally controlled the fuel intake and timing are now. Years ago if you did this with a carbed engine you could pull the dipstick and smell the fuel in the oil. Now THAT was severe service lol Your sig line tells us how you feel about PP, but you run Amsoil and now Chevron...

Castrol gtx, exxon superflo, formula shell walmart supertech or any other
dino will work for 2K intervals. And as was mentioned, supertech filters
are good for your 2K intervals, and even 5K intervals
