OK, here is the plan. Going to grind off a set of cheapy sockets, 3/8 drive. Sorry to be a hater on Harbor Frieght, I am a shopper, just not a dedicated beleiver in chinese metalurgy. By the way....why is it so hard to find a set of the close, small sockets? Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, et all, no one carries these. Snappy has a set, if I want to spend 150 bucks. Proto has a set for 68 bucks for a set of 6 sockets. Come on tool companies, is this...

I may buy the Northern set anyway...I hate to say that but it has the best selection of any set under $200 I have seen. It also happens to be the cheapest. Kobalt has a 227 piece set I could buy for $180 but why bother spending more? I actually do want my tools to say Made in the USA but sometimes I wonder why bother, I should be looking out for my own wallet.

Nope, the Actron 9190 will not let you select the PIDs you want, you get the canned list of 25 and that's it. You can down select from that for graphing, etc. Their data sheet...

Oh yeah, and for something the size of the diesel, the Blitz ramp was the only thing I could find that wasn't made (and priced) for much larger commercial trucks.

I wear the Oliver 55-245 ( http://www.oliver.com.au/asp/show_products.asp?Cat Id=11 ) 10 hours a day, 5 days most weeks. Without a doubt, they are the best work boot that I've EVER worn in 23 years of wearing safety boots. They've made the cap extra wide, and can wriggle toes freely. The sole isn't work boot flat, but rolls with your stride. the yellow torsion bar things in the sole stop it ...

I cant speak for the wrenches, but i have used a lot of northern tool sockets and i would put them side by side with the craftsman sockets. I believe they are not made in USA. I did buy one of there small socket sets with the ratchet and i am not real happy with the ratchet. It looks nice but the reverse mechanism is notchy and just not very smooth. One thing i generally do like about the ...

The problem with short sockets is still the thickness of the ratchet.I use pass through sockets where the top of the socket is in the ratchet. A set like this one should be fine for 3/8 use. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002U2ODO/ref=...mp;link Code=asn From the product description.. "Over all height is reduced by as much as 50%, width by 20%. My friend has an oilless Craftsman of around 3 hp with a 30 gallon tank. It works just fine but is objectionably loud when it runs. Louder, in fact, than the burly shop compressors to which I have become accustom. The same friend bought a conventional piston compressor from HF for $89 for use in a barn. He inflates tires and runs a 1/2" drive impact. It has been in light service for two years.

I would think the only problem there might be is if you should need repair
parts, other then a plug. If your thinking of replacing a motor you already
have, you might do better buying a used one for $50 and have some free
spare parts. just my 2 cents.,,

I guess I'm the Guinea pig. I bought one.. $140 on sale at Menards. It's a nice drill for the money... Half inch key-less chuck, ratchet torque settings, two speed ranges, two Lithium-Ion batteries and a nice carrying case. Another nice feature is you can replace the battery(s) with either the Litium-Ion or the cheaper Ni-Cad. Big question is how well it holds up. Since I'll only use it ...

I think it is a very decent scanner and gives you the most for the money over the two higher Actron models. I haven't really used the Actrons much but I have the similar Innova. The Innova may have better import code coverage but I'm not really sure. Equus 3130

Well, the question is...are the Craftsman jackstands decent? They seem to be fairly solid steel ones, but who knows with the cheap stuff these days. I'd really hate to find out the hard way. If they are decent, well, for the price, it's hard to argue with a pair of stands and a jack. If not, or if one's unsure, what floor jack and stands would one recommend? I'm willing to pay a reasonable price...
