Wood burners aren't for everyone. If you're an outdoors kind of guy, like to use a chain saw and not afraid of laborious work, a wood burner is great. Personally, I love to cut and stack fire wood. Don't do too much of it in town because there are only so many trees on my lot and I only process the trees that either die or get blown over in a storm. That's normally just a couple a year. I'm happy to burn gas until I...

On 4 strokes plugs last years and years. In 2 strokes as soon as performance starts to fall a new plug goes in before else.

If you go the two 6 Volt batteries in series rout, use two identical 6 Volt of the same age and Ampere Hour capacity. If the vehicle has a 6 Volt motor you could place two or more 6 Volt batteries in parallel. For Parallel applications I would use low voltage automotive type fuses for each battery so that if one fails short in the future the fuse would blow and not have any risk of a fire. The total capacity and run time for the Parallel...

the air in winter is extremely cold, and crystal clear. no need for a filter. air already comes pre-filtered in winter.

I don't like to use waste oil for anything but starting camp fires on wet days. If you use a summer grade bar oil, chances are that oil supply will be reduced. That stuff is very sticky and thick.

The owner's manual for my 1976 ariens with a 7 hp tecumseh (still original
engine) calls for 5W-30 below 40 degrees F. Ive been using Shell Rotella T
5W-40 in it for several years now. Michigan winter's are brutal. On another
note, i use the same oil in both my John Deere garden tractor's (214,216)
with the old cast iron kohler engine's year round with no issue's.

I did have an 'easy start' plug (Champion) that worked fine for two years. Year three it would foul and I couldn't start the engine. Cleaned it; it worked for two or three runs then foul again. Replaced with a regular plug and hasn't missed a beat yet.

I use synthetic oil in my mower and snow blower never had any issues. The mower gets the old, stray, synthetic oil orphan quarts, it runs great.

I have the same motor in my MTD. Tough engine, ran it for 12 years now. I also experiment with additives in my gas and oil! I've ran Seafoam & MMO in the oil (& gas). If it's not dirty inside, the oil won't get dirty. Would go a couple more hours or to the end of your mowing season there, drain when warm and re-fill with oil.
