Hey Carblo, How do you figure it is the owners responsibility to do something with it? Obviously you have not had such an issue in your short little boating lifestyle--and good for you--but why would an owner who pays his premiums responsibly take any action without his insurance cos. permission? Suppose he has a yard or dealer service his boat with the expectation of getting re-imbursed and...

Found an interesting article on vapro lock and ethanol. I am still having a random stalling problem at low speeds, and my nose cones and low water pick ups cause the engines to run a little hotter at idle. ETHANOL PROBLEMS By Robert Van Brunt Chief Petty Officer U.S.G.G. ret ETHANOL AND VAPOR LOCK Short description: When the engine compartment becomes hot either ...

Another builder with a cult following-Ocean Master. My guess is the very small and the very large builders are better equipped for weathering the storm. The small guys can close and do something else for a few years and the biggies have the resources to keep afloat. It's the medium size manufacturers that are most vulnerable, jmho.

What are peoples thoughts on around 2002 or 2003 Mercury 225 Saltwater series 4 strokes with just under a 1000 hours. Is this two many hours or is this a good sign that someone has acutally ran the motor. Also if these are EFI is this the same as the 2 stroke EFI as far as being real thristy? I know a good survey by a qualified mech is the best option but would this intrest anyone if they were ...

Brunswick Corp. today announced it will accelerate its previously stated efforts to resize the company and remove $300 million in fixed costs by the end of 2009. The company says it is taking the action in light of “extraordinary developments” within the global financial markets that are affecting the recreational marine industry. “We are living and working in the most turbulent ...

I have a two month old boat, purchased as a package. The forward rollers are leaving impressions in the hull. Not small marks but large dent like impressions about four inches around the roller and approx. 3/16 to 1/4 inch deep. I am meeting the dealer Saturday, claims they have sold a number of boats with this setup and has never had a complaint. The trailer manufacture said this boat is at ...

I also posted this on the sportfishing forum. I just received my order from Elec-tra-mate of the Hubbell 15 amp mounting kit and am trying to figure the best way to mount it. I woul dlike to mount it flush, but I am not sure that is doable with the box. I have installed regual outlets in my house, so the elctricity is not a problem. Just trying to figure out how to install it flush. Do I ...

I posed it as a question to get confirmation. In all reality if companys like them start tanking we all need to be concerned. The boat business is a funny machine... a manufacturer can be taking orders one week and gone the next.

Before I begin my search I wanted to try here..... I would like to put my 22ft center console under one of those portable garages for the winter ( long Island , NY ) . most i have seen at places like costco and such seem to low to fit with t-top. Any one have a link for a affordable and seasonal garage in place of shrink wrapping her ? Thanks in advance. Jimmy

Anyone know of any problems over at Southwestern Florida Navigation? I bought a bunch of stuff there last spring and both Mike and Matt were very helpful. Unfortunately, the iPod interface capability in the CMD5 didn't work. Mike and I had agreed to swap it out at the end of the MA season (today ). I just called his cell phone and got a generic voice message. I then called the office and ...

Did some poking around. It looks like the boat may be a little too slow w/o enough fishing space. Thanks for sharing the idea just the same.

Well I found out my boat will weigh about as much as a 3 engine boat because the boat stringer system is all composite. I decided at the last minute to go with a hardtop instead of the canvas top. I have pics of the boat being built, but I not sure it would be OK for me to post them. Motors are being mounted the end of next week. They think at the factory , the boat ...
