I already put one on my platform with the intensions of using it if I had to??? Everytime I do this I hope it works. You can mount this type of bracket anywhere...they also make one for vertical mounting also. Always check with boatfix before purchasing elsewhere Bahama Bob

my 320 is brutally slow to accept fuel, but quick to burn it on plane. never thought to check the vent lines.

Do a Google search on "Volvo Penta Engine Finder" The tag on the drive is usually on the housing just in front of the drive bellows. It may be painted over. Not easy to see if the drive is on the boat.

I put new vent hoses in when I installed the tanks. Think I will replace the vents.

I am trying to figure out which model of Volvo duoprop I have. I looked in my owners manual and it doesn't list it. The boat is a 1992 Carver 26 (listed as 2667 on the original ownership paperwork) and has a 570A/PS engine. The boat is in the water therefore I can't see it very well and I couldn't find any numbers anywhere. Thanks, Brian

I see you're Homeport listed as Ontario. Did you purchase in Canada or in the States?

no idea of the mfg, but this one came mounted in the cockpit when we bought the boat: it works great but you better have a light weight motor or you'll break your back taking it on and off. even with a light weight motor, it's a challenge transfering it to the dinghy, even in calm water. in less than calm water, forget it.

Gosh Bruce, sorry no one has responded yet. I have no experience with the 440, and sure hope that Carver's methods changed in the years since they built my 2896. Back in 1980, portions of the interior were pre-assembled on jigs and lowered into the hull, but often they were designed without thought for the need to ever take anything apart later. So for example my forward bilge pump let go and...

How about the vent lines? If the air can't get out, it could be causing your problem.

I work for a Carver dealership, and Carver is smartly down on staff, but is poised to weather this situation. They are still developing new models, although, the debuts may be pushed back some. As a dealer, things are tight, even scary, but our service department is doing quite well and we should be fine.
