We are a family of four and the boat more than suits our needs, my kids are 4 and 2.  We love the two full heads with showers although our rear shower has been demoted to lifejacket storage.  Trim tab area is a big issue and one you may find needs improvements.  The aft cabin windows are a problem since the old gray plastics ones suffer UV degredation they are only $150 each for new ones.  The tank...

Thanks, Bob...will do. I'm sure Jim will be glad to hear from you. I know exactly which boat is yours...I passed it several times last summer. We were looking at the 40' Sea Ray that is docked at Bordentown. Let's be sure to hook up next summer!

Onboard Battery Charger

A friend of mine a a graphic demonstration of a crossed wire short.  Believe me it was not pretty.  One recommendation by an electric type was to fuze both positive and Neg at the Battery terminal.   and both fuzes should be no more that than one step over the rated output of the charger (ie: 6A charge = 7.5A fuze) I did not think it made too much sense until he point out that if anyother circuit...

Thank you for your help.  I still need the manuals if anyone has any.  I did not buy the boat from Labmarine.  I purchased it locally here in Houston. Thanks again!

Hey Jerry, my brother-in-law has a 1988 Trojan that looks identical to yours.  He bought it last year and it has a pair of Cats in it. His only problem is he can't find a breaker or switch to put power to his anchor. Is there any hidden switches or breakers for the windless on your boat?? Bob

I have one thru-hull on a black strip and if I recall correctly it is painted with the black anti-foul paint used on the bottom. You might want to try this stuff:

125 is certainly not bad. A motor not ran much can have a low cylinder that gets better later. I once bought a boat that had one down to 85 and after a few runs it was well over 110. My rule has always been 10% between high and low for perfection and what you have now isn't that far off. I wouldn't worry about it...

Buy an RV water system pump. It has a vinyl hose with a standard hose male end and another hose you place in the bottle of antifreeze. Just pump it in. They cost about 15 bucks.

Just drain the block. My 5.0L Mercruiser has 5 drain plugs. You may want to add anti-freeze, but many don't. You might want to change the oil, but changing the outdrive lube will be quite difficult in the water. Make sure to drain all water lines to/from your head and/or sinks, too.

There should be drains from the locker. In a lot of cases the drains get blocked with dry mud. Empty the locker aff all chain and rose and then look for the drains. There might be little stainless cups on the outside of the hull where the drains are located. All you have to do is locate the drains and then clean the drain holes to let the water out.

Charlie- I had the same problem with my Kohler 5E. A strap wrench didn't do it. I finally broke it loose with an 18" pipe wrench on the filter body. The metal deformed a bit but didn't leak.
