^I don't deny anything the two above posters said. Ideally, that would be and probably is the case with most professors. But is it worth the risk when a topic without the same controversy (and lack of sources, apparently) could just as easily be chosen? the impact your professors' impression of you has on your marks would surprise you. heck, it would probably surprise your profs. Whether or not your prof likes THIS paper, it will...

Hmm, I wrote a paper about Charles Manson once, and another time I wrote one about American Skinheads. It wasn't the content that got me the A either time, it was the manner in which it was written. However, you've got to start somewhere, and he specified that he needed resources. I'm hoping that the links I've included in my above post lead to a paper which can be written well.

wow... one state over in Indiana, I got popped with less than 1 gram and a bowl, first offence, managed luckily to get on diversion, 20 hours community service, a living life clean class, a 1 year, keep your nose clean contract, taken to jail and given $5000 bail, and altogether counting the lawyer, the bail, the diversion fees, the class fees and the urine tests associated with the living life clean class, and the court costs, it has cost me...

Can my text messages be looked at?
Published (2009-11-24 13:43:00)
I don't believe they tell the public the truth about their policy. Just like AT&T doesn't tell the public the truth about their NSA dealings. Maybe even law enforcement can't get the SMS logs for criminal trials with a subpeona, but I'm pretty sure intelligence agents and the Pentagon have forced every cellular company who publicly claims not to be logging everything to at least be forwarding it to government...

Ah, ok. That is what I assumed you were hinting at, but wanted to make sure. I don't necessarily take a stance on that issue specifically. I will say though, that AT&T/Cingular did use to store and provide the text of SMS messages, they stated this publicly, and would provide them under the circumstances I stated above. Their new policy (I believe it went into effect September or October of this year) is that they don't even...

Dude that website is awesome. I am really thankful you put that up there. The cheaper lawyer I ended up getting has actually twice the amount of professional experience as the expensive ass one, and I'm really pleased to find out that he worked as asst. state's attorney.

Please only reply if you know for sure what you are talking about. If someone was wanting to carry 1000 prescription pills, for which they do not have a prescription, with them on a domestic U.S. flight, and The prescription they are wanting to carry is a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, would they be able to? I have visited the TSA website and this is its policy on prescription medications: "There are no restrictions to non-liquid...

While I'm not 100% positive, I'd venture to guess all US states have some form of tracking by this point. nope not all of them, but most, was just wondering if mine got it yet.

This isn't an easy question. The price difference does mean something. But does it mean you should go with the more expensive product?
Public defenders can be a special case. They may be young individuals seeking trial experience, who now have a few years or more under their belts and may be leaving shortly. They may have a ton of experience with your kind of case, know the ...

Yes, common sense says any trail for drugs is a bad idea. I cant think of any dealer who would accept a wire transfer.

Assuming you weren't high or looked like a scary-black-man(tm), yeah it was the boyfriend. Most people would have handled you two with kid gloves to avoid appearing politically incorrect.
It's a shame but not much you can do about it unless he made specific remarks.

The law usually looks to what your intent was when it comes to charging for paraphernalia. Is there physical evidence that the device was used for taking drugs? Is there evidence that you intended to use it for drugs?
This means that there does not need to be drug residue on a syringe or pipe or soda can, for example. Instead, the law looks at all of the surrounding ...

if you ever want your prof to take you seriously, you should pick a different topic (unless this was assigned, obviously).

Keep in mind that police are allowed to lie to suspects and often do. You may end up "cooperating" with them, putting your life and the lives of those around you at risk, and still end up facing charges. [can't say this part - see forum guidelines sticky post - thanks, johnny1] at least be smart enough to discuss this with an attorney and not to make any statements/sign anything/...

Since the account is in her name and she pays the bill, they're basically her messages. So I'd say yeah, she can probably read them if she wants.

do their comments constitute harassment? probably.
is it actionable? possibly.
can you prove it? unlikely.
is it worth it? definitely not.
in situations like this, you pretty much either have to grin and bear it or find a new job. that is, unless you are part of a union which I assume you aren't or you would already know this.

The way I'm reading it, they charged you with DMT based on presumptive field tests, and the labs came back with something that's not illegal to possess. Again, the H&S code would apply if you possessed DMT, but the lab confirms you did not .
