Well since Vinyl is not for iPods I hope they don't use the couple of dB's peak limiting for the Stereos this time

A lot of it depends what records you're talking about. For example, I believe there are whole books dedicated to things like Mercury Living Presence series.

They look OK (but perhaps a little flimsy). Acoustic Sounds has some more sturdy ones .

I'm not familiar with the phono stage, but the Music Hall MMF 2.2LE is a well-regarded budget turntable. I say go for it! BTW, you are right to reject the $50 to $100 turntables. By spending a bit more you'll be getting far more enjoyment out of your vinyl.

As someone with only 2 records, and no TT, I hope I didn't skew your results. I voted because I am interested though, so that qualifies me! I'm glad you are getting more ground work laid for this. Can't wait for the first issue!

I am drooling for these as well. Coltrane (self-titled Impulse) is in my top 10 albums (as is Love Supreme). But I'm still on the fence as to whether I'll splurge on the vinyl or the SACDs that will roll out later. There is no doubt the 45s sound better, but they're twice as expensive and I need to get up four times just to hear the entire album...for critical listening that's not a concern but ...
