If you're referring to differences in power then they're the same. They both use the same amp and power supply as I understand it.

Bi-amp on 806 or no?
Published (2009-11-30 01:06:00)
The proper way to bi-amp or tri-amp your speakers is with external amplifiers. I have been doing this for over 15 years. If you want to go one step further and really benefit from bi-amping, you should bypass the internal crossovers of the speakers and use an active external crossover network. The professionals do it all the time and most external active crossovers are sold in pro shops. A few are available on Amazon. Also remember that the...

Get this sony STR-DN1000 it is on sale for $299 at newegg.com with free shipping, it is not quite the 920 from last year, but if you want a sony receiver this would be the best of the non-es models you can get. This receiver will also upscale and upconvert the PQ to 1080i for analog sources. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...y%20str-dn1000 Also there is the STR-DH800, decodes the audio either in LPCM or from a bitstream also for $249...

HDMI pass through means the receiver passes the HDMI signal through to the display. The AVR doesn't do anything with it - no audio is processed. HDMI switching means pretty much the same thing. The receiver can switch among HDMI sources. But, that doesn't mean it can process audio arriving over HDMI. The OP needs HDMI repeating.

Hey all, I was just wondering what the main differences between the 25 and 27 are. I've looked at the comparison on Pioneer's website, but I'm not too sure what all the terms mean. I'm not powering a huge room, you can see it in my gallery, so what do you think the best receiver for the money is? Does anyone know of any great deals on them anywhere?

I used to have the 605, and for the price, I thought it was a very good performer and it never gave me a problem. It does run a little hot, but it worked flawlessly while I had it and would not have a problem recommending one to a friend.

The 520 doesn't even process HD Audio so I don't understand why you would look at this model in the first place. Many of your older low end HDMI models won't pass audio via HDMI, just video. The closest you'll get for under $250 will be the STR-DH700 which will Decode HD audio as Linear PCM via HDMI.
