The "Green Guide" last week (25/9/08) had an advertisement for Kogan LCD TVs, http://www.kogan.com.au/ with prices of $479 for a 22" with built-in DVD player, $599 for a 26" TV with HD Tuner and $699 for a 32" TV with HD Tuner, which all seem pretty cheap. I've previously only ever bought Sony TVs and would probably still lean towards Sony. However, as these Kogan ones are around half the ...

A while since I have visited - new format is appealing. Am looking for an external HDD (for improved back-up) for my 18month old machine. Presumably fire wire would be faster - and I have it on this board, so why settle for USB?!

A sales guy was saying that you could, but it would be on ridiculously expensive mobo, which is not what I'm interested in. In other words, what are the limits of mid price range mobo re how many processors you can fit on it? The sales guy also said that some ...

My old computer motherboard has died and I thought I might use the HDD as an external drive. However I don't know how to go about it and don't know the terminology to search for instructions. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I am not technologically savvy but can carry out simple instructions, which include what to buy and how to connect. Cheers J

I haven't used CopyWipe but from your description it souds as if it has cloned your previous structure which was 2 x 37GB partitions. You can now increase the size of one or both of these partitions on the new disk or create a 3rd partition using the remaining free space. A number of utilities are available to do this. I would use BootitNG . Regards, AB

I picked up a Logitech Wave keyboard today as the $10 thing I had been using for the past month finally started needing to be slapped rather than typed upon. So far it is great using a fresh new keyboard and it appears to be typing well and with the simple wave shape I already find the comfort and accuracy is getting back up to what it should be, sensitivity I am still not used to just yet, ...

My system had been showing signs of instability for several weeks - using system restore regularly is not a practical solution. Finally got BSOD yesterday, can recover my data but want some input about: 1. 160GB HDD which was paritioned into data and OS. Is it worthwhille for newly formatted HDD to be partitioned again? 2. Is Windows Firewall adequate or should I use Commodo Pro v3 instead (...

It isn't as difficult as it sounds. You only need one video card and this can be quite inexpensive. The video card needs to have two monitor-out ports and dual view capability. Typical views include: same on each monitor, side by side with half in each monitor (ie for wide spreadsheets), one on top of the other and different applications in each screen. The other issue is to match the port types...

Hi all! I thought I ask your opinion about the reliability of hardware (software) of today, compared to say, a few years ago? It struck me as strange, that lately I had to deal with more problems than usual, not only with those of my clients but some of my own as well. What was interesting that the hardware seemed to be very recent, as well as the OS (Vista, XP). In my case I had to replace 4...
